Exclamation Help!!

I just traded my rx8 (yeah i know i hate it too) for a 02 ford expedition. i have signed all the forms, and have my copies. on the way home from the dealership the dealer called me and said he wants to call off the deal because he was unaware of the after market turbo and the check engine light was on. i know i have mentioned it to him and so had a friend but he says he had no idea. i was wondering if he has any legal right to take it back. i am going to try to work with the guy because he seemed like a good dealer and did not screw us over on price. thanks for the help.

You should have taken the turbo off in the first place. Then sold it here.

Once all 4 tires on your purchase car have driven on the governors highways . . . the deal is done. You are an owner. At least here in Cali
BUT . .
Read the back of your long form. It may say something about a 15 day cancellation period that the dealership can take advantage of if they would like. (IF they meet all stips.)
OR . . .
Just beat the hell out of the ford for a couple days, then go get your 8 back . . sell the turbo seperately . . then sell your 8 yourself and get about $5000 more than what you did from the dealer.

he is the owner of the lot. he wants to completely back out of the deal. give me my car back and take his back. i think he is worried about selling it to a bigger dealer. no dealer will buy it the way it is. if he wants me to take it back i will and then go sell the rx8 for more.
oh well. thanks

i have read through every page of the contract. there is nothing in it but " There is no cooling off period on this contract" so doesnt that mean both me and the dealer?

That sounds like the kicker there. He doesn't really have a way out and you don't either.

if its signed then a deals a deal, and "cooling off period" doesn't sound like a legal agreement to cancel a deal, it should say in perfect english ,"if for any reason blah blah then the holder has the right to void the deal blah blah." Be careful, dealers are business men, not 'nice guys'. he might pull the nice guy card to not lose money (which is what he cares about, not a friendship or good manner with you)

I am a salesman in NC. He can do nothing to take the Ford back. As long as you were honest on the Damage Disclosure, (and that is only for wreck damage, flood, theft) you are ok. He should have inspected the car before working the numbers. Also, North Carolina DOES NOT have a "cooling off" period. Believe me. If it had been you that changed your mind, I would not hold my breath that he would have canceled the deal.

Note: There is a way to get out of a car deal after you bought the car. Simply do not put insurance on the car. The bank will not fund the deal and send it back to the dealership. That is not 100% though. Some lenders do not check to make sure insurance is on a vehicle before paying the dealership. It is cheating, but hey...
