Gerber rebate?

What is this rebate that some have talked about and how do you get it. Mazdausa does not show any rebate besides the recent college grad rebate.

I notice that now when you follow the link it says "Good on any new 2005 or 2006 Mazda" . Didn't use to say that and folks tried, and in some cases were able, to use it on left over 2004 8s.

Note that is does say to bring the advertsement/flyer with you along with the rebate coupon. Since you didn't get that, they could ask for it and then deny the $500. Folks here have posted that the dealer normally did not ask.

Bought a Red 05 RX-8 GT this weekend :D

I submitted my info on Wednesday, and got the e-mail on Friday. I just gave them the e-mail print out and they took care of everything else. $500 rebate looks good.

I have posted scans of the "Gerber Ad" you are supposed to bring with you to the dealership. If you have a quality printer you might be able to print this on photo paper double sided and cut it out and make it look "pretty real". Another thought is if they ask for it tell them you didn't bring it with you, but you can fax it to them. Via fax a copy would for sure pass.

Front of Gerber Ad

Back of Gerber Ad

Alright, I'm starting to get frustrated:

Still no rebate email! I submitted for it a month ago and I even retried it last week.

The Force is not strong in Gerber's email system...

I found that I didn't get the Gerber rebate email if I used my Yahoo address. When I used the email address with my ISP the Gerber rebate email arrived in about 2 days. Perhaps the rebate emails don't get sent to the free email accounts (Yahoo, Hotmail, GMail, etc)?

I posted some better quality scans of the Gerber ad. Quite large, so dial up need not bother :-)

Just remeber something: Interest rates are going up almost every day. Besides, if you are planning to trade-in an used car, it is loosing money every day too.

Waiting might not be the best idea, sometimes.

The feds raised the Prime lending rate by .25% today. Most banks will adjust accordingly this week and raise rates by open of business on tuesday.

Time is not on our side these days...

The finance guy at my dealer asked for the original Gerber card from the mail. I had copies I tried to give him - but no go. Lucky for me I had the original to hand over or I would be out the $500.

He seemed to know EXACTLY that the original was required, so I think too many folks have tried to hit this and they have clued the dealers in. I know over on other Mazda model forums (non RX-8) they are all doing the same thing - getting a Gerber certificate.

So don't be surprised if they will not give you the $500 without the original card - it says you must bring it to the dealer right on the certificate.

For those of you who had the original...can you tell me where you got the ad? I am trying to make the copy of the ad with the scans that people posted here, but I need to know if it was one of those tip in cards in a magazine or something like that.

i want to have my bases covered in case they ask.

Not to hijack but: Mugatu, I thought you already had an Rx8

Back to topic: My email must be filtering this thing out or something because I still don't have the rebate...
