Free Maintenance available at any dealer?

Free Maintenance available at any dealer?
I am purchasing my car in San Deigo, but I live in San Francisco. Does this mean to get my "free maintenance" I have to go to San Diego? Or can I get the maintenance done at any Mazda Dealer?

Apparently Mazda will make a notation against your VIN in their computer systems, which will indicate your free service status to any Mazda dealership that cares to look. Dealerships should have no qualms about performing the work, since they'll get reimbursed by Mazda just as they would if they were performing warranty repairs.
