Financing question on ordered RX8's

I've come to the conclusion that I will be ordering an RX soon becuase I can't quite locate the configuration I desire.

Well, here's my question: When do you take care of the financing? When you order or do you wait for the vehicle to arrive...

I'm leaning towards when the vehicle arrives since it might be kinnda hard to buy something that doesn't exist (no VIN) but I've never ordered a car so I really don't know.

thanks

USAA?

Will Mazda begin the financing process right away on an ordered vehicle?

you put down a deposit like $500 the dealer contacts you when it arrives you take a trest drive and then if you want it you buy it just like it was on the lot. Otherwise you say hasta and walk.

Are you wanting to finance with Mazda? Why? I bet you can get a better rate from your credit union or bank - or from Capital One online.

If there is a finance promo - like just ended in March on the 04s - then you have to MAC finance to get the money, but AFAIK there is no incentive right now that would make you want to finance with them.

With captive financing it is typically, easier to get approved with sketchy credit but higher rate no matter what your score.

In any case, you can get approved for the loan now and the approval (assuming nothing changes in your financial status) it will still be good when the car arrives. The trouble is that the rates then may be higher than now and you will be stick with that higher rate. If you know you have good credit and will qualify, then order and get the approval once the car arrives.

What is so special you can't find? You know the wing, appearance kit, cd changer, etc, etc can all be added later? Just get the color(s) you want and the sports/touring/gt pack and you can either get the dealer to add the rest or buy from a discount dealer and self-install (most of it).

Possibly, but not necessarily. Many times the manufacturer will offer a more attractive interest rate as an incentive to help move cars. I was fortunate enough to be able to pay cash for mine, but at the time (January, 05), MAC was offering 4.9% for up to 60 months, which was a full percentage point less than my credit union was offering. Moral of the story: it pays to check out all available options.

I understand that, but I was just try to say don't lock to any one finance source. I always get an approval before I ever set foot in the dealership. Then when I get into the finance office I shut them down quick when I tell them the rate I have and see if they can beat it on a simple interest no setup loan.

Of course, if there is a promo finance from the captive bank that is better then I would get that - provided it didn't cost me money. Quite often it is customer cash OR cheap rate - and you have to run the numbers but the cash is usually the best deal.

The MAC rebate on the left over 04s was one of the few times it was take the money AND the high financing and come out OK.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the info on the financing.

To be honest, finding the best rate is not really a major concern now as it's kinnda what I do for a living, it's just that I'm a total noob when it comes to ordering a vehicle. I wasn't sure if I should secure financing now or wait until the car comes in and then scrammble for the best rate...

I'm having trouble finding a black with black / red interior with the grand touring. I JUST got home from the dealership and they could only find ONE in the state of California that matched what I wanted. I turned it down because it's been sitting on the dealer's not for almost 6 months now and I'm afraid of what those 16 year olds have done to it on test drives
We even looked for one that didn't have the appearance package and accents since as you mentioned they could be installed later on.

I think it's just the interior that is doing me in.

The Sales manager said it would take 90 days for delivery on an order so I'm hoping for a miracle or I might end up ordering in the next week or so.
