Finally got an 04 RX8

After getting lied to by a dealer that tried to sell me a used 04 RX8 as new I found a "New" one (only 58 miles on it)

It is a Velocity Red 6spd, with sport package, appearance package, 6 disc cd changer, and all weather mats. I didn't want the spoiler and lucky for me this one didn't have one. I got it for $4000 under invoice and then got the $500 Gerber rebate. Thanks for the tips on this forum.

I need to determine what "flash" the car has. I don't think the dealer updated it despite my asking for them to make sure all the service bulletin issues were done. What other Service bulletin items should I have checked?

Have any of you had a problem with the plastic rails in the roof changing colors? The ones on mine are faded.

Thanks!

Weekend: Dealer's aren't supposed to re-flash until there's a recall notice or until a problem arises. If push comes to shove, tell them that the CEL has been coming on intermittently and you want to see if it's the right flash. Otherwise, they don't like to be bugged with that stuff unless it's necessary.

As far as the roof rails go, do you mean the ones that separate the roof from the door? I hate those things; hard to detail. You should ask the dealer if he can detail them for you. I don't see why they wouldn't be accomodating.

Have fun with your new ride!
