I Just Got My 8 Pics Inside

Ok so today I went into mazda only to find out that they had JUST taken in a 2006 rx8. I dont know much about these cars but I had driven an older 04 not too long ago and fell in love. I was pretty much going for a 350z but the rx8 has rear seats and is alot cheaper than a Z (no offense to anyone here, its just probably the law of demand)

So anyways, its a 2006 sunlight silver with 15k ish miles. It has sun roof, its a 6 speed and it has the bose speakers. I don't know what trim it is so that's why i'm posting here :p

Anyways they want 18k plus TTL which I thought was a nice deal. They also have an 04 but I don't think it has the bose speakers or the sun roof and they wanted 15k for that. The salesman told me that it has a brand new engine because of some "defect" that the older 8's had? Anyways the starter sounds horrible on that car but they agreed to fix it since its still under warranty.

I'm 18 years old and need a car for school and work...not necessarily an rx8 but its a nice sporty car that I can afford.

What do you guys think? Help? I pick up the car on monday, but I still have the rest of tonight and tomorrow to decide if its what I really want

the way the market is right now. both are to high..

if i were going to school and work i would be getting something that gets good gas mileage... and is low on insurance...

when you are done with school buy a sports car..

Thanks for your reply.

I'm not really worried about gas efficiency as I work for a company that pays for my gas

Either way thanks for the imput. Any reasons as to why they're both high? Would you be able to help me with the differences in trims for the car? Thanks Again

supply and demand..

check out the rx8s for sale section of this forum...

as to the trims..

this is the 6 speed.

base is base.
sport adds zenon lights traction control and dsc
touring adds sunroof and bose
gt adds leather..

that is my best recall of it..

both rx8s you mention are under warranty..

but i still would go with my first post..

$18k for a clean 06 touring with 15k miles is a pretty fair deal. The '04 for $15k is not.

Thanks for the advice.

I guess I will settle for the 8, i actually met the guy that was trading it in and he kept insisting that I should purchase HIS since I looked lke a person who would not abuse it. Infact, the only reason he traded it in was for a mazdaspeed 3 so he and his wife would have something more "regular" i guess you could say.

Like I said I pick up the car tomorrow if everything goes well and I will post pics soon!

Im excited

Cool! Welcome to the club. $18k for an '06 at a dealer is a great deal for one out by where I live.

Hey Evofusion, you did it, man!! Car looks great. You must be having a blast.

Looks like you got a couple mods in the deal ... clear corners, tint. It kinda looks like the car's lowered a bit but maybe the angle of the second pic. What is that sticker on the rear window? Were there any other modifications?

When that guy said not to "abuse" it ... he was only kidding, ok!

Yeah man it turns out that the guy did a couple of things to it, clear corners, tint, and its been dropped a little.... it has green springs but I dont know if they're coilovers or just springs since I havent taken the wheel off.

Thanks for the comment! and YES i've been enjoying it alot lately....

^ I was going to sort of go along with what the Swoopester was saying. You are one lucky b@st@rd being 18 and having such a new rx-8! If you can manage the gas money and the few things you might want to do (like snow tires, maybe better summer tires), you're are really set up. Congratulations.

It's a bonus that you met the previous owner.

Out of curiosity, are there some things you do want to change on the 8? It would be good to figure out what springs you have. Anyhow, the car looks great.

At least not for the brilliant black plague. Your silver arrows are useless.

Zerobio - I was thinking maybe the shortshifter first But I still don't know. I might go for a cold air intake or the K&N typhoon intake.

swoope - I don't think i know what you're talking about? Something I should know about the color?

You guys can see the rest of the pics I have taken here https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multimedia-photo-gallery-6/just-got-my-8-pics-inside-135811/

Thanks for your comments!

zerobio - I see that you have the greddy sp2 exhaust. Can you give me some feedback on it? Is it worth it? Where and how much did you get it from? I've searched but I rather get some imput from someone who already owns one, thanks.

Good call on the 8, best of luck with it. Back seats make it great if its an only car, especially if you have to travel to/from school. Fits everything I need just fine.
