Escaped from custody

Got an email and followup phonecall from Budaman this afternoon. My car is showing "released to dealer" and is appearing on his PDI report - it's finally escaped the clutches of the demented chimpanzees running the Port Midlothian distribution center, and should be here tomorrow!

Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Mine was released from the port today, too, but since it has further to go, it will be a few more days. Could be Saturday, though!

Go to the dealer FRI and SAT. Make sure they don't prep and display your car like they are in ATL. I literally could have bought this guy's pre-order if I paid their addendum sticker.

Waste your time potentially and show up unannounced, they will have your car out on a test drive with somebody else.

The port is literally a 30 minute drive from my dealer (around 20 miles).

My car was released by Mazda officially last week and given a delivery estimate of Monday.

I still don't have my car.

However I believe, that tomorrow will be the day for that... and now that I've got the leasing lined up as well... *grin*

After driving it briefly the other day; it's going to be worth all the aches and pains I've gone thru.

I appreciate the warming, but I have made it very clear that my car is not to be driven. And yes, they could when I'm not there, but I have agood working relationship with the internet sales person. I trust him, even though he's a car salesperson! They are excited as I am for the cars to come in.

What about mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Congrats, let me know when your going to pick it up so I can swing by the dealer and check it out. I was pretty impressed with the blue at the rev it up event. I will be wishing and hoping that mine gets on the truck with yours.

If we all wind up picking 'em up tomorrow, we should head someplace for a celebratory ale afterwards.

Speaking of which, perhaps we should descend unanounced upon the next meeting of the Texas RX's club - they meet at Rudy's on 183 on the first Wednesday of each month, according to their site.

If my car comes in tomorrow the beer is on me, that will definitely be worth celebrating.

Well, I didn't hear jack today. No email, no call, same old - same old... Any word on whether or not more made it to Austin or not? So far it sounds like the only thing to hit Austin is the allocations - no preorders that I'm aware of. Grrrr.... I just hope if they come in tomorrow that they get there in time to do a PDI before everyone goes home for the weekend.

Come on mazda, do us right.

Two titaniums made it to Austin... and kept right on going! A truck carrying two RX-8 **** dropped off several more mundane vehicles at Mazda South this morning, but the 8's stayed on board bound for San Antonio and Laredo!

This happened to me. I got my email today about being released and to contact my dealer. Trick is, I drove by Mon night and they were rolling MY car into the showroom. My bastage Sales MANAGER told me he wouldn't deliver it for a few days. He did lock it and rope it off. But still.

I drove her home yesterday evening and I've almost forgotten the hell I had been in. The wait is worth it. No one has been disappointed around here.

Tomorrow would sure be nice - I've got the day off, and wouldn't mind picking up a car I ordered months ago...

Why change now?

It's too late to completely reverse their tarnished reputation from this debacle in my opinion anyway. Can someone remind me what the point in pre-ordering was again? I must have forgotten.

Anyone wanna bet me $100? I say they don't show up tomorrow either. If I'm right I get your $100, if I'm wrong I pay you $100 and my car shows up... I win anyway! Come on! There's gotta be some takers. The cars have to show up sometime, don't they?

Wow! I'm impressed! Mazda's really got that expedited shipping of the RX-8s rolling! 2 at a time!:p

OK... I'll shutup for tonight since I don't have anything nice to say.

Mistubish will take your bet....Oh wait, no that's they'll pay you $100 dollars if you buy the RX-8.

I was so freakin stir crazy, waiting for my car I went and did the Mistubish challenge, just so I'd have something to do related to cars, and get the $100 dollars when my car eventually comes in. The Mistu test drive was really uneventful. But hey, I didn't have anything else to do. I had the time, (Set aside for picking up my car this week) Which just didn't seem to happen...
