For anyone that was wondering about insureance differences. As of right now I'm between getting differant cars. I like a Rx-8 alot but still am not sure if I'd be happy with it's power output.

Anyways I'm 24 in Miami Fl. I have Progressive and I gave them a call to get an idea of what the differance would be. As of right now I pay 272.06 (It's great to be young and have your own insurance isn't it !)on my Mazda3 with a 500$ deduct. ( I was sure it was 1k.. guess i need that changed )
Rx-8 would bump me up 110$ over 6 months. While a Mustang GT 2006 would be 371$ more over 6 months. 1k deductable on both.

I picked a Mustang cause its a 300hp 2 door car so I could get an idea of what type of a differance a sports car makes. I dont know if they class a Rx-8 as a sports car differantly cause they have it down as a 4 door car, lower Hp or what.

Anyways I just though I'd post this up, it might help someone.

 

I am in the process of insurance quotes. For my RX 8 the price range from highest to lowest was huge with the highest being more than twice the price of the lowest.

The message is: Shop around!

 

I had a Sebring convertable v6 before I got my 8 and my insurance went down. My company classified the 8 as a 1.3L 4 door sub-compact.


My insurance went down about $50 a month..
