Cost of 04 RX8?

Hi all,
I'm just curious what should be considered a fair price for a new 04 RX8. I'm looking at http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/vlSe...4&interior=ALL
invoice is 29,625, GT package, in dash CD, spoiler and spare tire are the options. There's the $750 rebate, plus a $500 graduating student rebate. Those rebates will pretty much make me break even with my trade (2003 mazdaspeed protege w/ 16k on it). What should I offer them that seems fair? Thanks.

Jared

Back in December, there was a lease incentive of $3000, which made it a draw between buying the car up front (5-year loan) and buying it at the end of a 48-month lease (I showed calculations in a thread back at that time). Total outlay was about the same for both, with the only difference being that the car was yours (if you wanted it) at the end of four years with the lease rather than five with the loan.

Are you sure about the rebate? I bought an 04 two weeks ago and I got a $3000 rebate ($1500+$1500 if you finance through Mazda). I plan to keep the loan for three months then pay off the car. You should be able to get at least invoice on the car plus rebates.

2004 RX-8:
3.9% APR for 60 months OR $750 Customer Cash

Last month was probably more

i'm also toying with the idea of leasing one, since i know i'm not going to be modifying it much and i'll want a new car by the time the lease is up. i know i'll have nothing to show for it and all that fun stuff, but now all i have to show for buying my protege is pretty much nothing since i owe about exactly what i would get for it on the private market, i might owe a little less but it's close.
i'm gonna go to the dealer i think tomorrow and see what we can do (one of the forum members of msprotege.com is a salesman at the mazda dealer and he's switching to mitsu after this weekend so i should get a decent deal). i'm kinda just wondering if getting it below invoice before rebates is a reasonable thing

I leased mine, and had two opportunities to get one $600 or more below invoice before any incentives, but both times were at the end of the month (October, December) and the two dealers were going to get a bigger bonus for selling the cars than compared to any loss they would incur with my transaction. Neither had the exact car I wanted, so I ended up buying at another dealership who would not go below invoice (but I got the car I wanted--an '05 silver GT with 4 miles on it). Call or visit a few dealers on January 30th or 31st (if you can wait).

I bought mine this month. Call your local Mazda Dealer and ask him about the rebates. I know what the website says and I know what deal I got. As a minimum, go for invoice and subtract $3000.

I got mine 04,gt,6speed,nav for 28,000 and a car cover(200.00). I also got a 1500 rebate and 500 college rebate. The invoice price on mine was 30,534. So if we do the math i got 2734 off invoice

i just bought a new 04 rx8 with 200 miles on it. I paid 23,500 plus ttl. It is the 6spd but no touring package. With all the money I saved, I can buy the extras I may want later. It still came with pw,pl,cruise, cd, steering wheel controls, etc.
