it costs 25 bucks for unlimited access IIRC. I would do it for you if I had it, but seriously, if you're thinking of spending thousands on a car, 25 bucks is nothing. Stop being cheap :p

???

I'm not being cheap, I own a 05 that had some body work done on it. I want to see if it was reported to carfax.

Do you really think that someone with almost 1000 post and has a picture of the car in their avatar would not own a RX-8?

FYI:

CARFAX depends on public and private sources for its accident data. Each one of these sources has different processing times. CARFAX can only report what is in our database on 30.Jun.2005 17:01:04. New data will result in a change to this report.
Not all accidents are reported to the Police. Tell us if you know of other fender benders, accidents or damage.

And no, it doesn't show any damage to your car, but now that you've posted your VIN and admitted that it had damage someone could report it. :p

That has potential for weirdness , yes. See my other post. I bought a car that I ran through carfax and autocheck , only to find out after I bought that it had major damage repaired. ALWAYS have a 3rd party inspector check the car out before you buy it. It only costs around 75-150 bucks , but well worth it. I wish I would have done it :/

It could be the dealer doing recall work while it was still on the lot, new and unsold.

Copy and paste what it said, but I am guess that it is recall work done on the lot. That is what dealers are supposed to do - when they get the recall notice they fix the customer cars as they come in and get all on the lot done ASAP. If there is a safety issue (air bag, etc) then the ones on the lot are "frozen" and can't be driven or sold until the recall is done.

Yeah, not wierd at all. Completely possible. Go do a title search, it should be part of public records - but the searchs cost about $100. It might be worth the closure you get from talking to the previous owner.
