Question Car on water, 4th week in August?

I talked with the dealer Yesterday, I was told that my car is on the water and expected delivery is 4th week in August. Last of vin# is 106649. Anyone know which allo this is, and if the 4th week in August is correct. BTW Faulkner Mazda in Philly got 3 auto's on Monday. Black, Silver, and V. Red. as far as I know they are available.

This is after the 3rd allocation. I would expect a September delivery. Not bad, considering the waits you read about on this forum. I have been waiting > 5months personally. It is just an educated guess but it seem the 1st allo cars are going to trickle in throughout July, 2nd allo in August, and 3rd in the begining of September. Yours will be after that. My guess 2-3rd week September. Let me know if I nailed it .

Then it is a dealer allo. The VIN dramatically increased from 2nd to 3rd allo as more orders were accepted. So I change my guess to the last week of August being possible. Remeber VINs up to 1900's have been reported picked up on this site. Hopefully, in the next few weeks we will be in the 3000's or so. I would still expect an-after-labor-day delivery

Mine's 6429 & got real recent answer of end-of-August.

I called the 800# for fun at least, just now. Hours are 9-4:45 M-F and that's eastern time, said the recording.

Mine was thankfully already ordered before I bought it. By the list that I saw, they preordered all their allocations at about the same time. I'm guessing they can only order so many for each "allocation". There were pretty much a distinct grouping of vin #'s, about if not exactly, 4 per grouping. Mine is in the 3rd. The first 4 are already sold. One's being held by customer agreement (gave her an offer she couldn't refuse - couldn't buy it unless she agreed to it) so people can actually see one. She'll get it when the 2nd batch arrive. It's in the showroom, I think it's roped-off. I'm goin there today to drool on it (if they let me get close enuf). Definitely no test drives around here. I'm ramblin, gonna stop here...

After all-day researching this at the local ATL dealers it appears the 2nd allocation (pre-order and dealer order) are said to be due to hit port 5th week of July. Add another 7-14 days to get our cars after that. The third allocation (whether you are a pre-order or picking a dealer allocation) is set for 4th week of August. Once again add 7-14 days to get from port to dealer, depending on holidays, port options, transport carrier, and distance from port to local dealer. This means July deliveries will consisit of 1st allo cars dribbling in off the trucks. As we all have come to know, only about 50% of these cars are pre-orders, another 25% are dealer orders that have been sold in the last 2weeks, that still leaves about 25% that are just going to show up at the dealer without an owner. These are the ones most likely to be price gouged . . . but if are a good haggler, maybe you can get one. I gave it a shot today, but found nothing close to the options and color my wife wants.

GOOD LUCK TO THE REST OF YOU

Shane: I am getting mine from Faulkner as well. See this thread for more info:
https://www.rx8club.com/purchasing-financing-insurance-56/just-got-factory-accepted-my-order-email-6770/

Basically, they never input my info into the main datbase and I am just now receiving the emails. Hopefully, I should get the pre-order gifts as well.

I am hoping that mine is here at the end of August... but I have no info ... yet.

I'm curious. I did the inv hack and noticed a few new cars on there. I'll check to see if I can find your vin. If it isn't on there, then can you tell what color and package you're getting.

Finally, don't even think about getting one of the three 8s on the lot!!! My sales rep just let me test drive the red one for like 20 min and I noticed that it's already up to like 150-160 miles. Apparently, all three are being test driven and I wouldn't want one of those. Also - if you check out the silver, look at all the scuff marks on the sill. NO THANK YOU!

My sales rep told me to come up at any time to test drive them whenever I want. I think I'll go back next Saturday and drive the silver.

PM me if you want to talk about Faulkner in detail.
