Anyone see the new post-Oct 3 rebates yet?

I wonder if they'll up them a bit since the sales of low mpg cars have been slumping and the August RX-8 sales were down -48% YoY

Edmunds has them now

$1000 cash back (manufacturer to customer)--if you finance with Mazda Finance
$1500 "marketing support"

Both end October 31st. Seems very similar to last month's offer. Hopefully the price of the car I want to buy stays the same from last week's quote. . .

Did you buy yet? I'm about to get mine for an insane price of ~ 23,600 after all rebates before TTL with about 1k worth of options on top of the sports package. I couldn't even come close to this last month... sticker is 30k

How are they getting you that price?

I bought last week (new '05) for $24,600 out the door (including TTL & $1,600 in sales tax), and that was with $1,500 MAC cash and another $2,500 in rebates to the dealer (so $4,000 rebates total).

And that was for a Manual Transmission with the Sport Package.

You got a good deal.. I didn't include TTL so you paid < 23k which sounds about right.. after tax I probably haggled the same deal as you but I went to the zoom zoom thing too.

What equipment above the Sport Package did you get? And this is a Manual, I assume, right?

Body kit and spoiler... I thought about holding up for mazdaspeed spoiler instead but I didn't want my car to look too ricey I like the aero package, it's moderated... and yeah it's a 6mt

Did you ever think you're going to miss the options inside? I wasn't sold on the sunroof because I'm planning on autocrossing mine and at 6' tall I need all the headroom I can get, plus everyone I know never uses theirs, it's just for looks and extra light. The Bose and the infrared mirror would've been nice though but I'm not sure they're worth $1500. I want to get the mirror as a standalone eventually.

Also going to go with the mild rice and get myself some clear corners and fender strakes. Not sure if I want oem strakes, they seem thicker but you have to go through the dealer instead of DIY.

You planning on doing any visual mods with yours? Have you added anything yet? I won't touch any of the crazy turbo stuff until after warranty expiration.

Nope. No mods. I like the look of the sunlight silver as stock (but with the Xenons). It's clean and uncluttered, and classy. If I did do one thing, it would be the strakes, though. They do look nice.

I would have liked the leather and Bose, though, but I will say that I have had a problem with almost every moonroof I've had in the past, factory or not.

I'm going to install an electronic compass, and possibly, an engine block heater (because of our very cold winters in Michigan).

Other than that, I can't think of too many additions I'm planning on making.
