35K RX-8 for 30K...

Brand new 2006 for 30K with rebates, incentives, etc.

I wa sso happy to see this. Plus I think I can get more off the price since 30K is the asking price (which means they are still making lots of money off the car)

What do you guys think? Good deal? I just want a black or dark silver 8 with MT and navigation. It's been hard to find one in the San Diego area. Is there a used car section in this forum? Or should I look to a new one?

A slightly used one would make much more sense, money wise. Opinions?

I paid 30K out the door with tax & doc. fees for my 2004 in 2004. Grand touring, sunroof, appearance package & navigation (which really sucks). That would make the sale price around 28K

I was offered 3K off the new price after looking at one and getting contacted back from the dealer. From that starting price, the deal was between the sell price and the trade-in. This dealer wanted to make room and get more 3s in since they were selling well. They had 4 8s on the lot, 3 had just rolled off the truck. If you wait till 07 the warranty is going to 36mo 36k miles. I waited for a later year due to the inevitable problems that first year models have.

This car was white with black leather and had navigation and moonroof. That's all i know. That and the window sticker said 35K.

Just trying to decide what's the most I can get for my money. I must have navigation- and I heard the 8 nav is pretty good. I like how it's not a touch-screen. Touch screens are great only until the screen gets permanent dents from your fingers and gets dirty as hell.

You will probably start seeing 5 grand off most places soon. 7k off when the 07s start rolling in....I'd sit tight to get an even better deal on an 06 if I were you.

Those were nearly impossible to find here when I started looking at 05s a little over a year ago, and I certainly couldn't find one in the color I wanted. I just ended up ordering an 06 to get exactly what I wanted.

Even with the $5K off, $30K is still a lot for a new RX-8 considering that once you drive it off the lot it will be hard to get $27K-$28K for the car. RX-8 depreciation is the pits.

Still, $30K is a lot better than paying $35K and (hopefully) you got the exact car you wanted.

Enjoy!

Did I say $30K is a reasonable deal??? I may have spoken too soon. Check out https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-media-news-11/mazda-expects-recall-rx-8s-97039/ about the possibility of an engine recall. If true, resale will take it in the tubes.

yea.. I'll be honest with you, I recently got my 8 (July 7th).
It was advertised in the paper as an 05' for 18K! New! I went to dealership checked it out, test drove, loved it, so I told the salesman I would take it. By the way, this is a brand new (well like 500 miles on it) but brand new 2005 rx-8, silver, with GT package, black and red leather, sunroof, bose. SO he writes it up, and then manager says it's a typo and it's really for 25k. After bargaining I ended up taking this car for around 22-23k. Also it's a MT, 18 inch wheels. I still can't beleive the deal I got, and it's a beautiful car. (the dealership was closing down. may have helped the price) SO just look out for deals, they can come any day.

The funniest thing, was that it was still advertiseed in the paper the next day.

Um, if they advertised it as 18K that is the price you should have gotten. They can't advertise something at one price, claim it's a typo, and make you pay more. That would fit nicely into false advertising and get them sued.

You can get 2005 GTs with low mileage for low 20's at the minimum.
