30,991 for a new RX8
I just got a call from the dealer today and he offered me $30,991 for a brand new BB RX 8 6spd manual with the grand touring package, 6 cd changer, and a navigational system. Is that a really good deal? It sounds like a good deal to me, but should i try to haggle a bit more and lower the price or make him throw in some more things like a spare tire kitm or all weather mats? I don't know, the price is way below MSRP, but is that a good deal?
Some feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like a good deal to me. I just paid $30750 for mine, 2nd owner at 350 miles, same options plus spoiler and aero, spare tire, and rotary accents. I'm hearing that they're still selling so strongly that the dealers don't need to discount much.

According to Edmunds.com for:
- RX-8, MT
- GT
- 6 CD
- Navigation
- Zipcode 90701 (Cerritos, CA)
Prices:
- MSRP, $33,700
- Invoice, $30,741
- Other pay, $32,993
The price they are offering looks about $250 over the Edmund invoice.
That looks about like an S-plan price.

In SF Bay area, some dealers advertise $4000 off MSRP (one ad shows it for all in stock). I even asked them if they'd get one from another dealership and still sell at that price and they had no problems. But the salesman I dealt with almost seemed to try to tell me not to buy an RX-8, it's not for everybody, etc...which seemed kind of weird.

Yea I got mine for 300 over invoice, and Ill be having my baby tomm! i could have gotten it for 200 over invoice but I opted to go with the more expensive one for two reasons, free oil+filter for life, plus its 5 minutes away! See if you can get an incentive like mine, and youll have a kick *** deal!

What's this S-plan people keep referring too? sorry i'm kinda new to the forums. But yeah the car is completely new, and in fact is being made right now at the dealer. The salesman told me it is being sent over and is probably on a freight right now.
Thanks everyone for your input

MikeLikes,
That's a damn good deal you got. Did you buy from Browning in Cerritos? I went to Alhambra Mazda, but I didn't have the patience to get below what you paid for just MT & Touring package for what you paid for the GT and Nav. I just walked.
I'm determined to find a decent deal. Instead of walking onto dealer lots cold, I will try calling all the dealers within 50 miles on the phone.

To get the S-Plan you need to have a Ford employee register you with Ford. That is a simple thing to do. The employee calls an 800 number and gives them buyers name, address, social security number, thats what we recall anyway. Then the caller gets a number that the buyer gives to the dealer, and the buyer gets the discount. The trick is knowing a Ford employee who is willing to register you.

So far, my plan to get a good deal is working. I went to a dealer, negotiated price. Walked because they didnt have what I wanted on the lot after we priced out an 8 that was in stock... I let them know I was still interested in dealing, and to call me if "my" car came in. So far it looks like I may be getting a deal under invoice... but I haven't bit yet, waiting a few more days.
