Question 2005 Model Year

Does anyone know when the 2005 model year will begin? If so, when. Many thanks.

Assuming you're asking about the RX-8 05 model year, my dealer said mid to late September; however, I also heard that some dealers are expecting delivery of new 05 RX-8s as soon as late August.

Correct assumption. I'm planning on purchasing my RX-8 in mid-August so the price should be right. Although maybe I should wait a month and go for a 2005? I would imagine the new models will not be significantly different from the 2004's. Decisions, decisions.

Yeah, I got the message in any case. Too bad there are individuals who have no patience with newbies. I just signed up today and before that I did a scan of recent messages but didn't find my answer. Guess I should have noticed the Search button.

Yes, bad day. Probably not fair to direct this at the newbies. It's the moderators who should make the subject sticky.

I ordered mine on 7/8/04 and they said I'm getting an '05. They haven't started building mine yet though. I'm going to call every 2 weeks until I know. When I do, I will let you all know.

Smile Got a 2004

After my initial posting, I managed to arranged the purchase of a 2004 with the help of an S-Plan arrangement. Great car! Had a bit of a fright driving it home when the low-level oil light came on. Turned out to be the connector to the sensor on the side of the oil pan having popped off. Whew!!

One of the salespersons at the dealership where I purchased my 2004 indicated that the 2005 white RX-8's were now being delivered to the dealers, but the that rest of the 2005 colors would be in sometime in late September. So take that for what it's worth and consider the source. I have no way of judging the validity of the information. Good luck with your purchase.
