1000 cash incentive?

The dealers are telling me that it is gone........Damn it, I took to long. The best I can get is $200 over invoice, sounds like crap to me.

Don't give up. Keep your eye on Edmunds:

You can get $400 under invoice for the 04s Just make them an offer and keep with it. They try to get you to sign up for the rip off extended warranty, clear bras and what ever else the dealers have in their rip-off agenda list.

I just got $1000 under invoice a few days ago after the incentive expired (Yellow 6MT, Dec production, 7 miles). I'd start $2000- or even $2500 under and work up. The dealer started at $300 over like it was a great deal.
Check the production date on the door; a lot of these have been around almost a year. Take the Edmunds printouts so they know you've done your homework and business cards or brochures from other dealers help. Print out listings of similar cars off the Mazda website so they know you're looking outside the area. It's easy to pass on the add ons. Just be give definite "no" and move on; don't let them go into the sales pitch.
Good Luck!

I bought mine on Sept. 28. They also told me the $1000.00 incentive was gone at that time. I still got the car for $650.00 under invoice (my figure based on Edmunds) or $800.00 under invoice based on their figures (don't know what the discrepency was).

If you can't do better than $200 over invoice (I'm assuming you are talking about an 04) you should tell them that you will just go ahead and order an 05 then. That's basically what I did.
