Hey there,
I've recently been able to stop dreaming about getting an RX-8 and start realistically aquire one into my budget.

I was about to start making the final preperations to purchase a new 2007 RX-8 from my local dealer. I'm in the industry myself so I am paying the window MSRP so that I don't screw over the salesmen...especially after how much time they have spent with me.

As configured, delivery of the vehicle would cost me $43,570 CAD after taxes and before finance/lease. The RX-8 GT in question would definatly be leased and I would be purchasing the extended 72 month waranty. I would be making this purchase around mid June.

Now... I have come across a 2005 RX-8 that I have one week to make a decision on. it has 18,000 kilometers on it, and is going for $29,000 before taxes (6% gst), and they are willing to give me $2000 for my trade (a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am 2 door LE with new brakes, new rubber..but in need of front struts, front bearings, and broken power windows). I would be purchasing this instead of doing a used lease.

Now I have been doing all my research on the 2007 RX-8 in terms of options, power, etc. But my knowledge in pre '06's is not very good. How are the 2005's in general?

For trim, I'm sure it's a GT...but here's what it has...

Keyless entry
moonroof
black/red leather interior
red exterior
6 disc CD player
6 speed manual

now I'm not sure if the system is BOSE or not. Should it have a BOSE label on it? or will be stuck with something sub-par. Also, I'm asuming that the unit dosn't run MP3 cd's.


I'm willing to save the extra bucks to deal with not having the intelligent key system, or having the color I truly wanted (Winning Blue Mica or Phantom Blue). I may still try and see if I can find a used '05 or '04 Blue one kicking around now that I'm more open to buying a used one...
