Does anyone think the rebates will go up in March since the 06's might get here sometime during the month? I would hate to buy now and be able to get another $500 or $1000 off by waiting 5 days.

there is some sort of ******* charade going on with mazda
.. i got a quote for 9.50ff msrp .. then i got buying happy and they backed out of it .. with the current discounts at 3750 i should have been getting that 9.5 deal .. though i blew it and gave deposit on whats gonna result in 8.4 off

im a little pissed cause if i did this whole thing over the phone like i bought my prev car .. it would probably never come into question .. but i showed there in person and they started dickingit around

anyways during this whole thing i sat down with the mgr and he said that mazda had an overstock of the 8s and offered 10packs of rx8 to dealers at some discount and i guess thats how this 8-10k off msrp deal started

well im going there to close the deal tomorrow .. wanna get some more money out of it .. they just plain old scam the **** out of ppl .. wonder if mazda gets any of this money .. or they just keep it at the dealer .. *******

on the plus side .. tomorrow .. once my headache is gone .. and i get to pick it up .. ill be an 8 owner after all

Curley and Dupa...Wow! Those are amazing prices! Just when you think the deals can't get any better they do! Perhaps I should have stayed in the garage and added another coat of Zaino instead of revisiting the purchasing forum and seeing that I left money on the table. No regrets though...I think I bought their last Velocity Red so I couldn't have waited and didn't want to anyway.

Apparently rx8clubbers must be buying! I was talking to Mike Korp about a couple of questions related to my purchase, and he said that Autobarn had sold out of the special deal GT's. Between the Chicago Auto Show and people from the forums, they are all gone! Dupa...is yours the last one?

At least other dealers are finally starting to realize that they are going to have to make better deals if they want to move their 2005's before the 06's arrive. Even my local dealer seems to have finally moved a couple in the last two weeks. Could it be that RX-8 sales are finally starting to pick up? I guess the Feb sales numbers and March rebate $$ will answer that question.

Thanks to you, rtr7, for letting us know about this deal. Before I found out about it, I was waffling on the RX-8. But $9,250 off list price was just too great a deal to pass up.

I figure that even if I absolutely hate the car, I'd be able to sell it locally within the next couple of years for at least what I paid for it.

But I'm not planning on that happening.

My RX-8 should be delivered late this week or early next, and I'm starting to get pretty antsy about it.

Talking I picked up the last Titanium.....

I just wanted to say "thanks" for posting this deal - I've ordered one through Mike Korp based on the information in the thread. He told me yesterday that there were a couple Silvers left, but they may have disappeared since.

This was much better than I could do locally here in Pittsburgh, and pushed me over the edge to buying now. The problem with this is that I have to wait for it to arrive now!

Curley and Zyll –

Funny how >25% off MSRP has a way of taking the indecision and apprehension out of a purchase! A similar post had renewed my interest in RX-8’s, so this thread was my effort to “pay it forward”.

Glad that I was able to provide some useful information and hope both of you enjoy your new cars. I wonder how many other rx8club readers scored one these discounted GT’s from Autobarn?

Zyll,

I live in Pittsburgh and bought an Rx8 last week from Hamilton in Irwin. I went only to do a final test drive as I was going to order from Autobarn. I was able to work Hamilton down to the point that it was a $200 difference between Autobarn and shipping vs buying from Hamilton. Since the Hamilton car had everything I wanted I decided to buy it from him. Thanks to RT7 for his help, the Autobarn offer was great leverage with Hamilton!

I brought home a silver GT tonight. Thanks for posting this deal; otherwise, I never would've known (and sadly, wouldn't have bought one had it not been for the tremendous discount).

PS At Autobarn's warehouse down the street there sits some silver and titaniums with "sold" tags in the windshields. Must be awaiting shipping for the out-of-staters.

This is hilarious. You guys must think were all fools. How many more of you who posted in this thread actually work for Autobarn? C'mon fess up!

I assure you, I'm NO car salesman. Considered it in the past? Yes. Actually pursued.....that would be negative.

This is my 3rd rotary, btw. '87 GXL (sold); '93 R1 and the '05 are currently in stock, uh in the garage.

Hi Killerj,
I went to Hamilton last Saturday and wanted to buy there, but they didn't have the car I wanted. The Red ones had the appearance package and a bunch of other stuff that I didn't want/need - besides not wanting to give up ground clearance, it increased the price gap too.
Congrats on your new 8 - at least you don't have to wait!
