$800 over invoice.

$800 over invoice.
I have started showing an interest in the car but I have concerns about the MPG issue. After working with a dealer online I am able to get the car I want $800 over invoice. Any opinions on the MPG issue and whether I should jump on this, work on a lower price or wait until the MPG gets resovled?

geez. I am really surprised on the price. THat is better than a Z plan price. If you can ACTUALLY get the car for that and want it - I would not hesitate.
In this area the dealer locally sells the cars at MSRP. Down the road they have a $4000 premium and in Miami they were paying $5000 over MSRP. These may have changed recently but IMO anything under MSRP is good.
This power issue has been a hot one but now with the post and the reason seemingly known and PERFORMANCE the same, along with advertising just starting, the car should take off. Last night I stood in the Target parking lot as onlookers oogled on my car - 2 different groups. People are really liking the style.

I bought the RX8 with the GT package window sticker 31,100 and I paid $28882. The cost price from Edmunds is 28534. So that would be $248 0ver dealer cost. I got the Ford partner price which Mazda is not honoring on the RX8 yet, but the dealer said he would and did. I talked this deal with the Finance manger. I think he knows finance better then dealing on cars. I think he got in trouble. I have been back twice now and they keep saying no one will get that deal, when I say I'm going to send business their way. As for mileage I get 20 mpg in mixed driving which I think will be about it.

If you're seriously interested, go to Tony March Mazda in Hartford, CT. I got mine for $500 over invoice; no games, no discussions. MSRP 31,645, selling price $29,565. I view the $500 debit card as getting me down to exactly invoice. Why dick around with dealers who want MSRP or over, unless you like spending $$?
