$500 Cash Back

Was just browsing Edmunds and noticed a new $500 cash back rebate for Maxda RX-8's, at least in my zip code. Seems to start Dec. 1 and run through March.

Anyone else notice this?

Look at the Mazdausa web site. All rebate deals are listed there.

it's probably the educational rebate, which applies to all Mazdas.

Rebates

According to the Edmund's website, effective January 1, 2004 through March 1, 2004, there is a $500.00 rebate on the RX-8. The website does not specify that the rebates is limited to college students as with the previous rebate. Does anyone have any additional information on this?

Depending on where you live you can prob get an 8 for $500 above invoice anyway. Advertisement discounts seem just like hype to me.

Guys, if you look, there's the same $500 rebate on all the Mazdas. It's probably the graduate rebate.

Here's what I saw: $2500 customer cash on just about any car (that or low-interest financing.) $500 college rebate. Some special deal on the 3 that I can't find any info on. They alluded to the $500 loyalty rebate which means if you already own a Mazda and buy a new one you get a rebate. Most of these deals can be combined, except it said you can't get both the loyalty and college grad thing on the 3.

All of this is in addition to any deal you negotiate with the dealer. So play dumb while negotiating, make your best deal and get it in writing. After all that then act like you heard about the rebate (which is from the manufacturer, not the dealer) and you'll get that off, too.

Hey Liquid, you're in FL too...so I have a question. I got my tags transferred. I asked how long I have to wait to put my old tags on my new car and they said about 2-3 weeks.

Are they supposed to be sending me anything or do I have to go pick it up? I assume I'm getting a new Registration Card, but what do you mean by the sticker?

My birthday is in Feb. so I'm probably going to be too late to renew my tags online by the time all this is done...have to go stand at the auto tag agency *grumble*

That's funny... We got both college grad and loyalty on a new 3. 10,000 discount total with trade-in.:D

We bought an RX-8 over the weekend. I saw the $500 rebate on Edmunds and took a copy of the webpage to the dealer.

At the time, the Mazda web page showed a bunch of incentives, but mostly on 2003's. There was, however, something that said "See your local dealer for offers on 2004 Model Year Vehicles"

I asked the dealer about all this. He checked his latest information from Mazda; the only incentive on the RX-8 was one that was tied into leasing.
