I dont see where they claim 30 HP, I see "routinely provides 12-14% more power and torque" which is not 30HP. A stock 6MT typicaly dyno's at 185 RWHP. So 14% would be about 25 HP. But even that number is not going to happen. With that package you might see 12-15 HP, maybe 18-20 with a very lean and aggressive tune (not recommended). Add in an ignition upgrade and a catless mid-pipe and you will get closer to the 25 HP, 30 HP with a more aggressive tune.
well i know what i got with the intake and RB flash. i can believe 14% total or a little more with the exhuast added. why dont you ask them? there's no reason why any rx-8 should not be able to reach 200whp on a dynojet NA wit those mods.

If I was more serious about getting it then I would ask them. I do not want to waste their time. We know you are not going to get much HP with the RB exhaust and K&N filter so most of the HP has to be with EFIdude.

Racing Beat has their own dyno graphs for the gains they see with their intake, exhaust, and PCM reflash. I don't think the gain was that high, but I don't remember for sure. It seems a bit optimistic to me, but then again, Racing Beat seems to be very cautious about power claims (which is probably a good thing).

I did not see a dyno on the Pettit site. I'm really interested in what someone can produce over 210whp. If this is just another setup that gets you to 200whp +/- then it is nothing different than is already on the market.
The information has been posted and discussed many times.
I dont think Cobb claims 10-15% HP increase on the RX8. I believe his dyno chart shows less then 10 HP peak and max.

Yes it has been discussed many times but Pettit, like RB, has a great rep and I have not seen their NA upgrade discussed. If we only believe and discuss what has been done then we will never know about what is being done now and or in the future. Maybe Pettit did something different and set a new benchmark?
I dynoed at 190 with a midpipe and typhoon, unfortunately that doesnt tell much since I didnt dyno before hand.
I wouldbe shocked to see 30 hpfrom that.
Why not just spend a fraction of THAT cost for a 55 extra laughing horsepower.

The pettit kit is only using a K&N drop in filter but even the RB revi intake makes 5.8 max over stock. Lets be generous and give the K&N 6 HP
We are up to 13 HP with very generous numbers. Racing beat reflash shows a 7.8HP gain, do you realy think pettit is going to get anywhere close to 17HP on a reflash? Maybe possible but the engine and cat would not last long.
If they are going to give numbers they need to a dyno graph to support it.

Guys, its the 'up to' trick.
Marketing 101
You can say up to on anything as long as you cap it somewhere.
ie- This ebay speed module gives UP TO a 70 hp increase and 35 mpg
So UP TO 30 horsepower probably means 10-20 with a decent tune.

Does anyone know of NA work done by Pettit?
Like Jeff says it may be possible with the right tune to regain the hps claimed by the factory, as far as the '30' goes, it may be an 'up to' number but Cam is fairly conservative with his tunes,,,
Usually its in character for him to start people off with conservative tunes and depending on the data they log and thier presentant to go for the advertised gains, he then will tune more aggressively,,, if you guys are interested I suggest calling him. Hes really easy to talk to and will answer any concerns you may have...

Exactly. It really is only interesting if they have a tune that gets you over 210whp and if it is repeatable by their customers. It would be great if we could see NAs consistently get 220whp - 230whp through a decent tune and some simple bolt on parts.
Up to 30HP can mean 1 HP or 30 HP, it all depends on your cars current status.
If you already have a mid-pipe and an exhaust already, do not look for 30 more HP.
I gained 40 RWHP with an exhaust and midpipe....
(cat removal on a SC car)

I think it's very possible. They're conservative with their numbers. For instance, they say their Stage II SC is capable of 275 WHP & 185 lb/ft, and I'm well above that. If they're advertising it it is because they have seen it.

If it comes with the EFIDude there would be, but I'm not familiar with it enough to know if this package includes the Dude or not.
If not the dude can be bought for about $150
