WTB - tire (Seattle and surrounding area)

Hey, everyone

Does anyone have a used 245/40/18 or 225/45/18 tire laying around in their garage that they want to sell for a reasonable price? As long as it has 50% or more thread wear left and is still in usable condition...I would like to take it off your hand.

a used OEM wheel + tire combo is ok too. I just need one to use as a spare.

Let me know if anyone wants to .....? I'm in north Seattle area and I can come pick it up as long as you're not too far away from where I live.

Thanks!
Mark

I don't have a full size tire, but I do have a new spare tire kit from Mazda with everything required to mount the spare in your trunk, spare wheel/tire, and cover. $150 for everything. Let me know if you are interested and I'll send pictures. I work in Seattle, so this would be local.

Thanks for the offer, Skin. But I'm actually looking for a used full sized tire or wheel + tire.......

The reason is I'm planning to take a road trip and with a full sized spare ...I feel a lot safer......
cuz if I get a flat or whatever, I might not get a chance to repair the tire for a few days....etc,...
So with a full sized one, I can keep driving around without sacrifing speed and handling til I get a chance to fix the flat... Atleast that's my idea...lol

A couple of other reasons...

I have 245/40/18s on and not a lot of tire shops carry that size in stock....so I had a blown tire once and I couldn't use my car for about 4 days while they were ordering the replacement.....it's a pain..actually... They couldn't even loan me a tire cuz they didn't have anything near that size in stock.... that was the discount tire store..

So my thought is that if I had a full sized spare in hand, I could have just comfortably driven around while waiting....

Anyway...again..thanks for the offer thou...

Why are you selling it?....it really comes in handy sometimes...

I figured it was something like that, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. I hope you find something, hopefully in 245/40. I wouldn't drive very much with a 225/45 if you have 245/40's on the rest, since the diameter is about a half centimeter larger.

As for the stock spare, I don't like how much space it takes up in the trunk, so I removed it when I bought my car. It's been sitting in my garage ever since. I have another vehicle that I can use if my car ends up out of commission for a few days. Being a small spare, I wouldn't use it other than to get home anyway, so I don't really feel like I need it.
