it wont go up!!

on my way back from work today, i was going up a steep hill when suddently the car lost power and started to slow down and finally engine shutdown. I turned the ignition on again and tried to go, but it just wont go up the hill, made a U turn and went to the dealer. on the way there I can feel the car heavier than it used to be. I need to step on gas more to get power. so i left it there and they gave me a cx7 loaner. as some of u remember i have the 04, automatic. any ideas here?

Did you ever have the recall done? Sounds like a problem that prompted them to do that massive recall and testing. Which dealership did you take it to?

i used royal moore, and they did the recall too last year. well i'm still waiting to hear from them!! will see

replace the engine

OK, they just called me today and they are going to replace the whole engine. wow, how about that???????

A redline a day keeps the carbon away.

I think Mazda needs to put in their owners manual that they recommend hitting redline at least once per trip once the engine is warmed up. How cool would that be...The manufacturer says REV IT UP!

actually I do rev the hell out of it whenever I can, but the dealer said the engine has failed the vacume test, the same one that I passed on the last engine recall that I did few months ago.
now let me ask you here will replacing the engine make the car depreciate more, less or it wont affect?

Should not depreciate it as it has a new engine. So who ever buy's it will get more miles out of it. Look at it like you were buying it. Would you want a new engine or one with 40,000 miles on it?

When they replace it make sure they visually check the catalytic converter and replace the ignition coils. DMP had his engine replaced but still had problems because the asshat dealer wouldn't replace the ignition coils an clogged Cat. which were the cause of the problem to begin with...

The auto should have had water cooled oil coolers IMO with big fans.
