Hey guys/gals! Just picked up my RX8 last week and am stoked to own one. Wish I could get a brand new one but ended up jumping into a 04 with 27k miles so not bad. Anyways glad I found this site and looking forward to getting to know the greatness of the RX8 even more.

I'm a newbie to the rotary world and I'm looking into trading in my 2002 Honda Civic Si (lightly modded and extremely slow) for an RX8. I am getting medically discharged from the service after breaking my back during a training op so I would like to find something that I can drive and enjoy as kind of a "thanks for serving" deal to myself. I would like to meet up with some of the local guys (I work at McChord, live in Des Moines, and find myself in Yakima almost every weekend) to see what you guys are doing with yours. My soon to be wife and I are a big fan of the body styling and handling of these cars, it's our favorite so far from test driving all kinds of stuff from Evo's, S2k's, BMW 3 series, Audi TT's and on and on. I really think this would be the project car to have.

Welcome. There are a couple of regular rotary meets every month, plus, I do a couple of multi marquee group drives each month, so there's plenty of opportunity to learn what you want. Just be warned, for some of us, rotaries are a [bit] of an obsession.

Wusup guys, just got here (Bremerton to be exact) from VA about a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunatly my car didn't come with me on the trip. But it's getting shipped up here.
Shipping company are charging me an arm and a leg to get my car here.
But my car should be here between the 4 and 7 (praying everything goes well).

Hi all, I bought an RX-8 last winter, and I'm in Seattle.

If anyone knows of a meet up, or of a great local resource - I'm all ears! Also, if anyone has a body kit, I'd love to see some of them in real life.

Hi Avery,

We go on great drives every month. Keep on the lookout for posts from kristopher_d who is the organizer, or go to his website: http://www.the-winding-road.com/modu...ent.php?eid=36

The next drive is April 27th - the details aren't posted here yet, but they are Kris' site.

You don't have to worry about them "starting up." We drive year round.

Since I responded to the front plate post, I guess I should introduce myself. Got my 08 three weeks ago from Walker. I traded in my H3...long story. I missed my 01 Vette, but didn't really want a fourth Vette. So far, I like the R8.. It could use more torque and less gas. I live in Auburn and work for T-Mobile.

I for one and full of remorse for clicking on your post.

There's something not quite right about your RX8, but I just can't put my finger on it.

I have seen that animation so much lately.

Very interesting looking rx8. At least i know the rx8 wheels look good on 3s, not so sure about the seats though.

When did they put handles on the rear doors of a RX8?
