We're paying tribute to the Prohibition Era Rum Runners who invented the Hot Rod. So get out your Zoot Suits (gentlemen) and flappers (ladies), we're returning to the Roaring Twenties for a trip through Wine Country.

Just like with the Sports Car Formal in December, I'm serious about enjoying this event in style. Costumes are optional, of course, but it's fun to be a bit silly on occasion.

At this time, I do not know about this one ether. I think I got inventory on this weekend!!!

I think my unfortunately long delay in getting the route posted may have been a bit of a turn off for some. This month has really been kicking my backside. I really need to spend some time trying to get ahead of the game. We'll see, though. It is the middle of summer, and lots of folks are on vacations. :shrug:

 

Drive is Sunday. I think you'll enjoy the route. It's some more of my old favs, and a few new bits too.

 

I have a situation I need to deal with, so I'm postponing the drive to next Sunday, September 2nd. I apologize for any scheduling trouble this causes, but I don't really have much choice in the matter.

are these legal drives or you know organized races................Kris have there every been any problems with doing this??? It doesn't sound too safe.

 

1. We do NOT race, its a drive. we do go fast but nothing like a race!!!
2. No, we have NOT have any problems!!!

PS We like to have fun in our car and meet other people ang have a nice BBQ!!!!

 

You're welcome to come out and see. I'm not sure why you think it doesn't sound safe. It is absolutely not a race nor is it implied anywhere on his site or in his forum threads. None of us condone street racing here. Kris stresses on his site that everyone should drive their own drive at the level they are comfortable with. We make sure anyone stays together and take our time as needed. It's very family friendly and we have had no safety incidents or legal problems.

 

Thanks for covering that question guys. I'm not certain what you mean by "legal drives." We don't race (if I catch you racing, I'll ask you not to come back). We do have fun. If you come and feel the pace is too hot, just say so we'll dial it back a bit. We've never had any trouble, and the only "issues' we've had have been mechanical trouble on a couple of older cars. Sorry, I can't be more specific without knowing your specific concerns.

Just a quick reminder. The Gallons and Getaways drive IS happening tomorrow (or today, as you're probably reading this Sunday Morning). After last weeks troubles, I thought it best to send a confirmation.
