He should have been there when 12 of us drove by all in a line at 35 mph while a cop was writing a speeding ticket to a person in a VW bug. priceless...

I think we saw him kicking himself in our rear view mirrors as his quota for the month drove past.:)

05TiGr8Lady 06-30-2008 05:07 PM

Yeah, that was priceless. Wish I would have had a camera for that one :)

crafted_soul 06-30-2008 05:16 PM

^ awesome pictures, guys!! :D I wish I was there. Man..those S2ks are cute! hehe.

You know that..76 issue...It might have been that particular station.... cuz I always use either 76 or Shell....I've never really noticed lost in power..... I use chevron too....once in a while......But Shell and 76 are right by my house...so I always use either.......but like I said ...I never notice any difference in power....

I do try to stick to Shell or Chevron lately though.....strictly because of the engine cleaning stuff they put in their gas. :)

NP... glad you made it home ok. Yup, I'm sticking with Chevron. And yes... :(... I filled it up because it was $4.55 there and it's $4.65 by my house.

I'll never forget it when, after the first part of the trip, you walked up and said something to me and Kristopher like "You guys are my heros.... 90 in a 35..it was awesome!!"

Very cool... kayaking on a day like yesterday. Where did you go? By Burien? Like Salt Water State Park, or Three Tree Point?

It was 4.23 when I left home :) Money well spent on these cars no matter what :)

Yeah you guys are all pretty cool (and the cars too), and that was probably the most fun I have ever had driving. I'll be back and I want to meet the rest of the people too.

It was really nice out there to go kayaking, my aunts parents live on hill side with beach access (right there in Normandy Park) and so we just climb down the hill/cliff and then he keeps the kayaks down there and we went out for about an hour. I really felt like I was going to dump it at first and freeze to death in the water :)

Here are some of my pics, no one got a shot of your face I guess Linda, but since you had so many of me in yours I would throw you in here:

Nice pics! I think taking pics and driving at the same time is not easy.

And - yikes - a pic of me! Thanks! People usually don't take them of me... it's easy to avoid when I'm walking around taking pics of everyone else :eyetwitch

Normandy Park... nice :) Yes, when you go into these waters, it's best to have a dry suit on - it's always around 50 degrees, plus or minus a few. Brrr... I learned how to scuba dive close to where you were.

Anijo 07-01-2008 12:39 AM

Awesome pics :)

And it's too bad you couldn't hold out, Chevron was 4.59 back in Bellevue the night before. I really can't reiterate enough how much fun it was. Does anyone have pics of under Chris' hood? (Yellow S2k, unless I'm getting people mixed up)

So I'm buying a radio and a V1 tonight off today's paycheck, I'll be ready for the next trip :P

kristopher_d 07-01-2008 10:58 AM

I'm glad you guys had fun. As I've said before, I just love to drive, and share that excitement as much as possible.

July will be about the most technical route of the year, and as a bonus, we shouldn't have much traffic to worry about.

Yes, Chris drives the yellow SC'd S2K. Hopefully he has that idler pulley fixed so the drive belt stays on the SC.

05TiGr8Lady 07-01-2008 11:49 AM

What do you mean by technical route?

fahrfegneugen 07-01-2008 04:31 PM

^He means you all are coming over to the east side :) We have the have the windy roads w/ the switchbacks, lol.

I had to use my cell to take those pics while driving.

Is "three tree point" in Normandy Park? I think it is just a few blocks away from their house here. Oh yeah, do you still want me to Zaino your car, I got my aunts yesterday. haha

V1s are awesome Anijo, you should hard wire it like Chris did in the S2k

05TiGr8Lady 07-01-2008 05:55 PM

Haha... nice try...although, knowing Kristopher, he might just do that :Eyecrazy:

Good pics for a camera phone!

Yes, looks like Three Tree Point is just north of Normandy Park. My favorite place to dive - the northside.

Oh yeah... Zaino... I don't know when you could have time to do it though before you leave... But I wouldn't make you do it - I'd do it myself. We could have a Zaino party :)

kristopher_d 07-01-2008 06:35 PM

Actually, I was referring to Kitsap Penninsula. The folks who've been doing these drives for a while know what I'm referring to. Though, it'll be a bit less intense than the route I picked in '06. It'll still keep you on your toes.

As for coming over to the dry part of the state, I'd love to. If you have some roads in mind we can compare schedules and I'll pack up the car.

If not, I'll find some roads.

Pretty sure Chris had an Escort 8500 but they're effectively the same. And yah, I'd probably see if I could get someone's help to route the power cable under the interior.

kristopher_d 07-02-2008 10:49 AM

Yup, both Chris and I have Escort 8500s hard wired.

Yeah I asked my aunt, it is about 1/4 mile from us, it is a pretty cool place. I want to steal the boats that the people leaved tethered out in the water though. :)

A party? Cool, I have never used Zaino actually, I just use Mothers wax and Meguires paint cleaner. So I guess I have to ask what is Zaino :uhh:

I will think of some today, I know a few off the top of my head but they are a little short and far away from each other.

Check out the do it yourself forum on here, I don't think you even need another power cable, I think you can get away with the one for the mirror being sufficient. You can wire either detector anyways. Have fun with though.

You mean I missed Linda's legs?

05TiGr8Lady 07-02-2008 11:44 PM

You missed 'em twice :)

Revlis 07-05-2008 07:45 PM

Freaky.

Interesting "It's a Small World" event?....

I was on Whidby with some bike friends of mine Saturday as well. And curiously enough, I snapped a quick shot of the South Bound Clinton-Mulkiteo ferry...

Look at whose on the deck of the Southbound Ferry...

Creepy...

Here's Linda's shot.

And here's one from the Ferry I took on the Way NorthBound...

I'm not sure this is the group... But man the timing is about right.

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...8/80aac2b5.jpg

Here's what the Pass Shot looks like from the two wheeled perspective.
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...8/89454836.jpg

I've got two bikes in the above shot, cannot ride one and leave the other at home right? Helps to bring it along... :eyetwitch

Seriously though, had friends from Florida up so I rented a Harley for Greg, Brenda rode my Black Hayabusa, I was riding the bright freaking red Moto Guzzi. Left to right Darren, Audry, Myself, Brenda, and Greg. Given the position of the shadows it looks like we were probably about 1-2 hours behind you all, and going the other way. Though we stopped for food after the pass before heading up highway 20.
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...8/d0a5624d.jpg

Was a great day to be out riding or driving... I'm going to try and catch you all on the next drive, I would love to head up north and do a Mt. Baker Run with the Group. It's probably one of my favorite little bits of asphalt... The car freaking loved it... Even full of gasping passengers, we all had a blast. Well accept for poor Greg riding shotgun, heading DOWN from the Mt Baker Lodge at a high rate of speed aimed towards nothing but sky and a sharp left hander sans guard rail did force a "Jesus Christ" out of him... Poor bastard. I dunno if that meant he was looking for him at that moment, or had already seen him. Either way I added about 50ft to my braking points and ratcheted my speed down a little bit. Not fair making your tan buddies from Florida Turn Pale White... Love that road though.
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...8/85345395.jpg

Cheers all.

05TiGr8Lady 07-05-2008 08:17 PM

Keith - NICE pics! Wish I owned a bike now so I could ride with you guys.

Were you guys out Saturday or Sunday? We were out Sunday, the 29th...

kristopher_d 07-06-2008 08:18 PM

"aimed towards nothing but sky and a sharp left hander sans guard rail did force a "Jesus Christ" out of him... Poor bastard. I dunno if that meant he was looking for him at that moment, or had already seen him."

I love it!

I thought this would be a good place to post some of my pics driving over and going home, I went through Leavenworth on the way back. It was about a 7-8 hour drive. I forget it was so long... But I did find some cool roads, check out highway 10 sometimes near Ellensburg, I was too busy for pics of that :)

Nice Alex, sounds like it was fun. You should come over when we do the Leavenworth drive in October :) But then, you should come over for the drive every month - right? :eyetwitch
