Salem, Portland, Vancouver and surrounding area 8's: Drive Sunday 8/24
Unfortunately the other Portland drive is not going to happen so a few of us are going to get together for a drive. Aipex8 is setting the route and is thinking meeting at Vancouver Mall at 8am and drive up to Mt St Helens.
I realize this is short notice but should be a great drive. Anyone else interested?

So I recomend doing the following route. I-5 North to Woodland, then take 503 all the way up to Windy Ridge. I've done this drive once before and it is incredible. Very technical with lots of twisties, especially after the Swift Reservoir. Take a look at the attached map and let me know what you think.
If no one wants to do that long of a drive, we can do 14 E to the Bridge of the Gods, come back I-84 and take the Historic Columbia Gorge Highway that goes by Multnomah Falls and up to Rooster Rock.

My car is back on the ground so I will be there tomorrow. Both pyran and jfn08m said they are going as well. You bringing any drinks or food or is there plenty of places to stop off?

Awesome run today guys! Looking forward to our next drive.
jfn08m,
It was great to meet you today. You picked a great car for carving up the mountains. Welcome to the board!

Wow, that's some really great mileage, especially for being out on a drive! I've only gotten that many miles from a tank full a couple of times in over 4.5 years. I usually get 190-210 miles from most tank fulls.

Unfortunately I do not know the exact amount of miles of spirited driving but I believe it to be around 120 miles. Hard to tell on Google where the fun began. Also looks like I was off on the round trip millage as it was around 220-225 miles and not 240
I normally fill up every week between 200-210. I get around 280 per tank when on the highway. FWIW I also installed new plugs the day before the run so that may have helped.

I may just leave it until another weekend so I do not mess anything up before tomorrow.
. The pictures turned out great too!
