RX-8's gone, after five years

We finally decided that the RX-8 was really a duplicative car, and we have a real use for a good AWD car. So we traded it in yesterday on a 2010 WRX wagon.

We're pleased. We'll miss the RX-8 (well, except when we have to move a car out of the garage, and don't have to leave it on until it's warm), but I think I'll like a car with torque.

Man... I hear yah on the torque. I got the opportunity to drive an STI around for a day a week or two ago and man did that shake my faith

Tood bad though... Ah well, not you can fit people over 6ft in the back :)

I have never had flooding problems with the 8, even when I switch it off cold. But, each car has a personality and you can't go wrong on a scoob. 2010 Outback is great. Torque will snap your neck. Enjoy it.

Torque is a myth. Power is what accelerates the car. If you believe that torque is a factor then you should also believe that gear boxes are the greatest things on earth.

There's a reason why even muscle car people DOWNSHIFT (raise revs) from a cruise to accelerate when their torque peaks are far lower on the powerband.
