Hey I just thought I'd share something I learned while taking the high performance driving clinic. They taught us while steering, keep your hands at 9-3 (I always kept it at 10-2 because of the beam in the wheel) , but now I do and I rest my thumbs on the beam. When you turn, pull the wheel, do not push it, so when you make a left turn, pull your left hand down, you can get close to 180 degrees without taking your hands off the wheel. I just thought I'd let you know so if you haven't driven like this can try it out and get used to it before your next event. Just remeber to keep smooth movements (this is hard for me because I jerk the steering wheel) it helps to keep the cars balance.

FYI, the Porsche day on the 8th is filling up. I have to wait and see if my friend from back home wants to go before I sign up, so I'll know tonight if I'm going or not.

It's true... it's going to be a tough call. The parties are usually pretty extravagant with a lot of free booze and live bands...

Now 30. I have sent a email out asking how many spots will there be cause I have a few Rx8s that are pending to register if there are spots open.

Robert says he loves seeing the RX8s come out.

Damn... I'm gonna be a little pissed if I can't get my friend in... maybe we'll get him to be an instructor, lol. He does it for the New England branch...

Update on the Porsche school on the 8th: There are 42 total slots, 34 people have currently registered. My friend has registered as a student and is trying to switch to an instructor, so we'll see what happens. Either way, registration closes on Thursday, August 6th!

Also added a checklist of things to bring.

For those I've been trying to talk into a Packwood event, August 16th is the last Northwest Region SCCA event there. There's 1 more Oregon Region one there the following weekend then that's it for the season.

Reminder bump for anyone planning on going to the board meeting tonight. We can meet up at the starbucks by the Southcenter mall or something and head over.

So I talked with TJ in e-mail, tomorrow's practice is open to everyone! If you're not a BSCC member, he'll accept new memberships there. It'll make the event $50 instead of $30 but the membership is good for the rest of the BSCC events this year.

And if you stay the whole day it'll be $60. 20 for the membership and 40 for the entrance fee

Oh hm, you're right. I didn't notice he raised the price for this one. I'll have to leave after the AM unfortunately. I need to be back by 2pm.

$30 for the morning, $30 for the afternoon, or $40 for the whole day.
