OKOK, More Car stuff from me, But We're now onto Plan C... *Sigh*

OK, OK, First, NOBODY AROUND me will listen anymore. They are SooOoOOoOooo Tired of hearing about. I don't blame them, but it means you all are about all I got. Lucky You, accept for 05tigraylady, she's heard it once or twice....

ANYWAY, So the Blue with Brown leather 335 may not be here till September, at which point I may as well order an 08. Currently the dealership (None Of the Dealerships) can even get an allocation let alone get a build slot.

BUT

There is an Alpine White over Red/Black optioned just about the way I had planned accept for the heated seats. (I can get over it) It arrives at the end of the Month and I have an option on it.

The White is a classic color, but just a tad boring. I don't dislike it, but it doesn't really ring my bell. The Red/Black Interior is what I originally wanted, but then chickened out.

So part of me is wondering, is this maybe a case of "You can't always get what you want, But sometimes you get what you need?" Is fate stepping in and making a decision for reasons unknown?

If it was a color I really hated, then I wouldn't consider it, and would wait it out, but the Alpine White is pretty harmless, not electrifying but it has a nice clean look.

So here it is in all it's glory, Alpine White Over RedNBlack. Keep in mind I am just leasing this thing, so re-sale isn't my problem. So Here's a Few Pics.

Tell me what you think, some of you have a pretty good Idea of who I am... So I appreciate the input.

If you think IT's FUGLY? TELL ME SO...

If you Love it, Let me know...

In the end I'll do what I think is the right thing. But your input helps. Right now I am leaning towards getting it, and enjoying it. I am buying it for the way it drives, NOT the color on the outside.

Besides, the License Plate:

THAN8OS

So belongs on the back of this car.

Or maybe:

MORTIS

ANYWAY... Let me know.

Somewhere between this and the previous shot is how the red leather really looks.

Thanks folks...

Pictures are accurate accept for the lack of NAV in a couple, the car that is coming has nav.

I don't know about the white exterior over red interior. It conjures flash-backs to my childhood. The 80's were NOT cool.

my very first car was a white toyota (chevy nova). i think white's a very simple, elegant color. but, it's also very conservative and for some reason very boring after a while. and, since then, i've never yearned for a white car ever again. that said, a good friend of mine got awhite slk w/ the black/ red interior and it looks really sweet. however, i can imagine that same car looking so much sweeter in black, or red.

the red interior of the 335i is pure butter. however, the white on the outside just doesn't do it for me. any other color would have more mmmph in it than white. i guess here's a simple analogy... if a car were a pair of jeans, i would never see myself wearing a pair of white jeans. and, likewise, if i had a choice i'd rather have a car with some color and personality- be it blue, yellow, black, or red. but, not white, not gray, not silver.

MY dream car for many years was a white E46 M3 with black/red interior.

This is basically that, but a TT. To me this is teh sex, and I love it.

if the navi is anything like my friend's 2005 m3's navi, it's actually worse than not even having navigation at all.

I know the color you picked won't be available for a very long time, but are there any other colors you liked showing up within the next couple of months? I think it would be worth a little wait to get a color you like a better if that's an option.

I think the white does look elegant, but a tad boring. The red leather looks really good in some pictures. In the picture where it's in the sun it looks really washed out though. Kinda like tomato soup with milk in it. Maybe that's just bad white-balance in the picture or something...

I think the biggest problem the interior has is the people behind the cameras. They are not photographers, they are just owners. Not Saying that they are incompetent but from what I've been hearing the Red is hard to photograph.

If there was a different color coming I could wait, but there is a couple of others out there that are different colors, but they have an Auto, or No nav. And nothing really coming down the line till August. SO, it kind of comes down to the white. If I was buying it, I wouldn't do it, I'd wait and get in line for the 08s. But I like the white, I don't LOVE the white but it's a nice clean color. It's NOT TOYOTA CAMRY GOLD, so I'm good to go.

I wanted the Blue, but I kinda like this as well, it's quiet on the outside, but a party on the inside. The white doesn't scream LOOK AT ME, so that nice as well.

Initially I was like "OH HELL NO" when the dealer said it was coming and it would be mine if I wanted. I recoiled and launched a shopping campaign, trying to find a dealer with an allocation or one on a lot. So far nothing. The white and red has everything I wanted accept heated seats, I can live with that. Otherwise everything I wanted plus a couple of things are on the white one that's coming.

As for wheels, I was thinking: The Dark would be cool.

Although I may just leave it bone stock.

Yeah, I know it's a little old school and maybe a little "Been Done" but I do dig the white with the Black wheels...

when I first saw the white i thought it WAS nothing special, but after seeing it with the black rims and tints, i would say go for it, i dont know why but that little set up makes it look really clean, and a whole lot more exciting

that nav system is butt. and, yeah, i have an 8 with nav. I would wait for the next M3, personally, were I in the market. They're revamping the nav. AND IT'S AN M, NOT A WANNABE M.

but if really you need a 335 built, call the factory in south carolina. I was told 3 months just about a month ago. they'll build it and then let you drive on the track for a day.

335s are built in Germany, "call the factory?" doesn't work that way, and it's not a Wannabee M, it's a 335 Coupe, though it does have 300HP and with a simple plug in tuner makes about 360HP. It's not advertised as an M competitor, and it's not trying to be an M car. Also the March Production cars got an updated Nav/idrive, while it's still not the best out there, from what folks have said its not bad, just overly complicated. Doesn't sound like you really know much about what you're talking about to be honest though. You can do a Performance Center delivery in S. Carolina but you do not drive "YOUR" car around the track you get to take a similar car around the track for a few laps. They do have racing schools you can attend though which will get you more track time. Besides, PC delivery "Deliverance" is in the South... No thanks. I can here the banjos from here.

The new M is pretty sweet though, have you seen the pictures? It's nice but it's also bound to be right at $60k, and that's about $10k more than I am willing to spend on a car.

Besides, my car is daily transportation. If I want to go fast I have a Bike that is faster than ANY car 0-60, 0-150, and 1/4 mile. Accept for maybe the Veyron. So I want a car that's an all around performer, something like the RX-8 but with a little more headroom for me. The 335 proved to be that car, it's quiet, smooth, and deceptively fast. I was originally after an M3 until I drove the 335. It's just much better on the road than the E46 M3. Certainly not as good at the outer limits, but 90% of the time in the real world it's going to provide a better more balanced experience without all the boy racer look and attitude.

my opinion (not that im sure it should matter), but i dont like the red leather. the black wheels definitely are a nice touch though. Is it tinted like the second photo? If so, it makes me think of a drug dealer....haha. that could be good or bad.

I like the theme on the first pic. Very European look and fits the look of a BMW. As for the red/black interior, it's not bad at all. I think it looks good.

As for the black wheels.... well, maybe if you get a much darker tint on your windows and even maybe red brake calipers.

Just my 2 cents, stick with the first pic. Exterior and interior are a match. If you're spending that much $$ then make sure you get what you want for that car. Good luck and best wishes on your purchase.

Yeah, I'm going to do a good bit of thinking about the black wheels. The wife found a set of gloss black with a red stripe she liked, but then again she thought red wheels looked pretty sweet too.

So, where, exactly, do the mention building the 335i at the us factory?

Yeah, I don't think so there Sparky... Once again you're a gleaming beacon of ignorance... Like I said, no 335i Coupe's, Verts, or 535s made in country...

And Do you see a Phone Number? An ORDER HOTLINE? Cause I sure don't, Did you EVEN CHECK YOUR OWN LINKS???

pwned??? Hardley Skippy, you need to do a little something called THINKING, before you post, or at least already have SOME clue about what the hell you're on about. You want to step up and be "a Big MAN", but you just keep broadcasting Angry Little Man Sour Grapes. Stop while you're ahead, it only gets much much worse for you from here.

**** off, Go away, or just quit diggin that hole you're standing in, CHILL...

okay, well email them or go to a dealer and have them call. . You were wrong about BMW's being made in south carolina. I believe you called it "deliverance" country. Aside from there being a classic film made there, it's blue ridge mountain country, and it's quite beautiful there. Be man enough to admit that, at least. I'll admit that I was wrong about 335's being made there, if I am. I was in talks for an x5 to be made there, that's how I know about the factory and the track day. I just assumed they made all of them there if you need, and I still suspect they probably will. I know what I'm talking about, mostly. I owned bmw's for 7 years before I bought my rx8. And any bmw enthusiast, i believe, will tell you not to bite on the 335. You shouldn't. You should wait on the M if you have the cash to go around ordering bmw's. The 335 is just a little better than the 330. Why get that for more when you can A) get an M or B) get a 330 for less or C) kiss my ***?

little man sour grapes??

Hmm. 170 something posts about bmw's on an rx8 forum and you're telling who to go away? :the finger:

You know, the thing about pissing matches is: all the spectators wind up getting splattered too. Come on guys do we have to behave like this, or is the silly internet posturing really that much fun?
