And here are some pictures of the replacement Holland lop, Flops (hoping my mom doesn't rename him Nipper like she was considering naming him originally as he keeps nibbling on her fingers when he licks). He wasn't sitting still for me either. I had the cutest picture set up and he wasn't moving.......until I pushed the button. By the time the camera had actually taken the picture I was left with an empty picture of carpet! LOL I'm hoping my new camera I'm getting for Christmas is a lot faster at snapping a picture.

Cinnamon Bun could be the Velveteen Rabbit (my favorite children's story)!

Californias are also the ones they use in labs.

There is some guy in Germany, I beleive, that has gi-normous bunnies the size of medium-large dogs!!! I'm not sure what they are used for, but they are HUGE!!!!! I'm thinking it would be pretty cool to have a bunny that big. Call it my "guard bunny." LOL

Here's the story where I first heard about the giant bunny breed:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1811

And another similar:

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...toryId=6865800

Here are links to a story about a German giant rabbit named Herman, including photo:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...ticle36664.ece

And here is one about Bodmin, the world's biggest bunny, whom I had never heard of before:

I'm surprised to hear there's a waiting list for rabbits. I mean...I thought they had sex like...rabbits.

Most rabbits get neutered and spayed because they often have trouble down there and can actually die from it. So, most people who want theirs to live a long live do it.

Yeah. I had all my bunnies fixed when they got old enough because dwarf bunnies are prone to reproductive cancers if you don't breed them.

I'm trying to convince my mom to let these two have one litter and then fix them. My goal is to get my little helicopter-eared bunny. Besides, it's not like they'd have a ton of babies in a litter anyway. Sweetie (the female) is a Netherland and they only average 2 to 3 babies per litter.

I've always owned rabbits, my last one died when I was nine months pregnant.....and he was 11yo. He was a short-eared Netherland Dwarf. I miss him and have been wanting another rabbit for the last year. I don't specifically want a specialty bred Holland, but breeders are the only place I'll be able to get one. Our pet stores here suck major butt.

Agree with you, but rabbit is pretty good eating... dog, not so much. never had cat, but would probably try it depending on circumstances.

the large ones were specifically introduced for eating. read an article on it somewhere....

just remember, all animals are here for eating. food chain and what not. wasnt until the first wolves started to hang around neanderthal man that they were considered pets.

Good, we see alot of people get pets for example on easter that don't have the slightest clue how to take care of them and then they end up in a box next to a dumpster a few weeks later. Always nice to see someone who's done their research and knows how to actually take care of their pets Cheers

Yea, those ones are crazy! They've been bread super large, it's hysterical to see them chasing dogs and other large typical pets around haha.

Not so funny when they have finished raping the dog, cat, next door neighbors skanky 16yo, AND feels like showing you his hare-balz next...

lol, I dunno what kind of rabbit's you've been around, but i've never had any problems like that. They get much less aggressive once you get them fixed, and if you don't... well they'll probably die soon anyway.
