Mt Baker - Saturday

I had planned to do this yesterday, but spent all day cleaning the 8. So instead, I'm gonna make a run up to Mt Baker this coming Saturday (22 May). Who's in?

no_pistons 05-19-2004 02:27 PM

I'd consider it...I'm still new to WA. About how far is that?

CCJ 05-19-2004 06:17 PM

Great idea Kristopher! I'll talk to my wife to see if i can go out to play.

(By the way, I think I bent a control arm or knocked my wheel out of alignment when I smacked into that curb at $tarbuck$. I gotta get my toy checked out this week.)

kristopher_d 05-19-2004 07:56 PM

Damn, Chris, that sucks. Hope all turns out well.

no_pistons, if you're actually in Seattle, it's 90 miles to Bellingham, 50 miles to the mountain, and then the return.

I was thinking we ought to meet up at Marymoore park. It's less than five minutes from my apartment, I had the long drive last weekend, and head out from there.

no_pistons 05-20-2004 06:18 PM

no one else!!! I was really hoping to meet some of you guys!

kristopher_d 05-20-2004 10:50 PM

Maybe a couple of 7's.

CCJ 05-21-2004 12:21 AM

Kristopher,
Are y'all still on for Saturday? I'm taking my 8 into the shop tomorrow. If all goes well, I may be able to "come out to play". I'll post again tomorrow evening the prognosis of the control arms / tie rods, and or sub-frame alignment... Wish me well.

kristopher_d 05-21-2004 09:42 PM

Good Luck Chris.

yeah, I'm still planning on making the run. We'll se if anyone else shows.

I'm planning on being in the Veledrome Parking Lot at Marymoore Park, Redmond, around 10-10:30 and hitting the road no later than 11. I know that makes a late day for driving for you Chris, but if people up here are going to show, they gotta get their beauty sleep.

CCJ 05-22-2004 08:29 AM

Kristopher et.al.,
I will have to enjoy today's thrills vicariously. The bad news us that I won't be able to join the run today. The good news is that I had my alignment checked out and the sub-frame as well. There was no damage found. I guess it was all in my mind. I'll look forward to a debriefing and a couple of pics when you get a chance - okay Kristopher?

kristopher_d 05-22-2004 10:00 AM

Hey, at least the car is okay.

It's lookin' like a solo run at this point. Oh well, any time behind the wheel is a good time.

kristopher_d 05-22-2004 10:25 PM

Yahoooooooo!

That was a good bit of road. I should have made the drive a long time ago. Unfortunately the weather and absolutely terrible road surface conspired to keep me driving within reason. Once you get going up the mountain, it's almost entirely 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear twisties. Not many 3rd's, but a few. Can't wait to drive it dry, and hopefully re-paved. Didn't take any pictures, lowsy weather, no place to get the car in the same shot as the mountain. Would've been pointless.

CCJ 05-22-2004 11:48 PM

Well thanks anyway and I will make that drive with you sometime.

maddox2351 05-23-2004 10:40 PM

I guess I am really late. I have been busier than hell as of late, and have not been here for a while.

Well, I know it's very late notice, but I was unable to make it. :-)

Glad there was no major damage to your car Chris. (maybe you should lay off the coffee. hehehe)\

And for the other Chris, I'm looking forward to driving with you again this summer.

And for both Chris's, I kid you not, that road I was telling you about going over the mountain from Beaverton to Newberg is awesome. Maybe some day when we get together next, we can plan that route out to my house, where that barbecque can take place. That would be awesome!

Later, Monte

Hiya Monte!
Yes, I need to lay off the coffee - for now.
As to the Beaverton ~ Newberg drive and dine, that sounds like a lot of fun. What about sometime late in July? Perhaps we should start a new thread...
