nice meeting new folks. Dondo, fun partying with you and riding the coaster. Watching you swing around the stripper pole in the BHR provided limo was hilarious.

compression could be the problem but having a problem like this surface all of a sudden is a bit odd.

if the compression is low it'll just have problems with hot starts right? so once it cools down he can try to start it again.

what about the cat? is that better or worse when hot? or does it matter?

 

usually worse when hot on the cat
low compression is definitely more noticable when the car is hot as well.

Hey! UrbanOcho and I just made it to her place in San Diego!!

HOWEVER... the trip from Vegas to Barstow was a NIGHTMARE. Stop and go traffic all the way... My car did NOT do well in the heat over 90 degrees. Total loss of power, rocks in the blender noises, hard to make it to 60 mph. THANK GOD it didn't die on me... but we had to drive in the right lane with the SLOW trucks all the way to Barstow. Michele deserves a medal for hanging in there with me! Once the temp got below 90, my car started doing better. We stopped in Barstow to gas up again and let the cars sit in the shade while we had ice cream and pie to drown our/my sorrows. Got back on the road with 84 degrees and it acted like a totally different car. I kept the A/C off just in case. We FLEW to Michele's - 80-85 mph most of the way, and my mileage was awesome. I haven't done my coils yet, so, knock on wood that I make it home ok, I'll get them done asap. Oh.. no problems with hot starts, which I was sort of expecting.

Nate - So sorry to hear about your car!!! I wonder if you were having the heat issues I had....
