Thumbs up Looking For Twisty Roads

Just got my 8 a few weeks ago, and I LOVE it!

I live out in Monroe, about 35 miles NE of Seattle, and am wondering if anyone can recommend some fun roads to take it on?

I'm past the 600 mile break in period and am really looking to see what this thing can do!

Thanks,
-Dennis

There has to be a ton of off the beaten track roads for you to have fun on. Just explore. If nothing else, head south to Mt. Rainier. I took that road in my '63 Fairlane at 105 mph back in '78. I can only imagine it in my 8.

Here's a posting I made about some great twisties in the Portland, OR area. If you happen to need to go to Portland then this is a definite detour worth taking. Oh yes!

West of Portland on route 26 at Staleys Junction, WA take route 47 north towards Vernonia. The road starts out relatively straight but turns into a wonderful sequence of corners as it winds up and down some hills. About 20 or so miles into it, turn right on Apiary Road towards Apiary (of course!). you'll eventually intersect with route 30. This is a great road for exploring your car's handling, especially if you swap out your sway bars and really want to compare before and after performance.

This route is used by logging trucks so you'll want to get past trucks whenever you can. Those twisties are awfully hard to safely overtake on. I hit 112mph overtaking one - on a straight (!) The twisties are hard for cops to patrol, but watch your speed on the straights.

The first time I drove this route I was grinning so hard my face hurt!

Oh my god. You live in a prime area. I just moved down from Snohomish a year ago. Ben Howard. You have to drive Ben Howard road (203, just south of the bridge into monroe) Take a left on Mann road and you'll end up in Sultan. Those who drove that one with me a couple of years ago (it was a 7 meet) know how Awesome that road is. There's also High Bridge (West side of the valley, ends in clearview) Hell, give me a call (206-227-7291) and I'll come out and play with you. There are lots of primo roads out there.
