Oh you asked about anodizing too. If you're anodizing for cosmetic reasons, you might want to ask a paintball shop to refer one of their sources. They'll usually be able to show you to a place that will do a polish and anodize that leaves a pretty sweet finish. If you're looking for functional industrial coating that comes out matte, try calling this place. http://www.platers.net/

The prices may have gone up, but the base processing fee was $125 in 2004 from what I remember. That was the cost to put everything they could fit into one rack. This place is one of those "you can have any color as long as it's black." I think they'll to black and clear, there might be other common colors they do for industrial purposes. Also, 2000 and 7000 series Aluminums don't take on color as well either. One comes out a bit greenish right out of the tank and the other is kind of a dark grey. So check to make sure you have 6000 series if you want to do colors.

thanks! great info. i have a set of Work VSxx and im geting tired of the polished lips, so thought Black anodized would be something different. Im just not sure if i want to go for a raw industrial look like with a mat apperance, or go with something more glossy. the centers are powdercoated black and i think anodized black lips might be a good accent

Thanks for the info.
