Ideas for monthly Seattle area meet

So I think its time we start having a Seattle area meet every now and then. I am looking for some ideas and feed back on this thread. I will start by proposing a monthly meeting, to be held on the first Wednesday of every month. I am thinking the South Center area would be a good "middle" location. I will propose a time of 7pm. I think this will be late enough to not have to deal with traffic too much. And not too early so we can all get off work and get there. I am thinking the Azteca in South Center would be a good location.......lots of parking, and an outdoor area for when the weather is good. But not everyone likes Mexican food so if anyone else has an idea just speak up. It would be cool if we could start this next month, so Oct 6th would be the first meet.

Any takers :D

Update...good idea Cam.....

Also....you don't have to have an RX-8...this is for all rotary people, AND anyone else who wants to attend...the more the merrier

UPDATED!!!!

10/8/04 Friday - 7PM - Azteca - Southcenter

IM IN!!

I live in the Issaquah/Sammamish area, but work by the Southcenter area. A G2G sounds like fun. Im looking forward to meeting other rotarheads, and checking out your rides.

Date/time/place works for me.

I just received word that one more will be attending, as long as child care arrangements can be made.

I would love to attend, but week days don't work very well for me.

Have fun this G2G, and maybe I'll see you at another...

We'll just have to have a weekend G2G sometime. Maybe some type of drive or something.

Feel free to toss out some times/dates and events.

Zoom44 and I would like to do the St. Helen's run one day. We missed the last one. He would come up from Portland and maybe bring that crowd of 8's with him.

^^^

Now that sounds like fun. A St. Helens drive would be a great Saturday function. Im in for that.

Should a new thread be started for the St. Helens drive to gauge interest and dates/time?

Are we jumping ship....I'm not....I haven't been able to make the last few but will continue to try and go. I'm just trying to get some interest and things to do in the Seattle area for our 8's. And a lot of people say Oly is too far (not me) but that if fair to say on a weekday and also having to work....so something a little more local might bring some more interest in for all the Puget Sound 8 owners And if this actually gets going I'll post on the rx7 site and try to bring in more people. In the past I have tried to get people down to the Oly meet without much success. I just haven't had a lot of luck getting together with local 8 owner so I though I'd take some initiative and try and get us together.

P.S.....nemesis......It's a 5-10 min drive from the airport.....so you may be able to show up for a few and hang out....If you want I'll PM you my cell and you can call that day

That is in Olympia correct?

Olympia is pretty far for me (1 - 1 1/2 hr drive).

I didnt even know people were meeting down there.
Who usually meets.

I'd be willing to split the difference and meet in Tacoma/Fife area.

I think the more the merrier, plus why have 2 groups 50 miles away, but if we cant come to a commom meeting place, we may have to have 2 groups.

I would like to join you guys but I coach my daughter's soccer team on Wednesdays. If you're still doing it come December, count me in. I work within 10 minutes of Southcenter so it would be great for me.

I can make the 6th, but I don't get off work at McChord AFB, until 7 on the 7th...so Thursday would be out for me.

Luckily I'm in Puyallup, so anything in Olympia, Seattle, or Tacoma I'm in. All I need to know is when and where. And hope my wacked out schedule at work doesn't interfere.

Yeah, weekends would be best... And if I'm going down south it would be cool to combine it with a "drive".

As for Olympia, as much as I would like to do that, it's even more out of my way - I'm up in Monroe and work in Redmond.

Anyway, have fun and drive safe,
-Dennis

Most of the 7 owners seem to work weekends. Most 8 owners tend have weekends off. A weekend G2G would probably work out better for us.

Cool Monthly G2G

I am up for the first Friday of every Month. Sunday is too tough for me! Friday gives you a chance to maybe have a Saturday or Sunday drive!

Good point Electron...as far as I'm concerned, my schedule is so messed up that I will let you guys set the time and place, and I'll try to be there.
