Happened upon a familiar road this weekend...

So I went camping, rafting and hiking around Lake Wenatchee this last weekend and stumbled upon a road we hit up on Kris' drive to Leavenworth. Brought back some good memories... 10 Miles of smooth pavement and on-camber S-curves with an honestly questionable 50mph speed limit. ~55 was a really enjoyable cruising speed for me (with the car fully loaded with 3 passengers and a trunk full of gear anyway. Had it just been me in the car…) but for a non-gear head friend following in a newer model civic it was a little scary. Some of the turns are marked with yellow signs down to 25… I stayed at the speed limit (actually, can you get a ticket for disobeying those yellow signs?).

If you're ever out there... make a left coming out of the Lake Wenatchee state park instead of the right your GPS will tell you to make and follow the signs for Leavenworth

I think if a cop wanted too he could come up with something like, "driving to fast for conditions" or there are a few others I believe but cant think of them. As long as you are in control they should leave you alone.

I did get my first ever ticket sunday, 12 over in my wifes bug lol. We were .15 of a mile from a 55 zone instead of 45, and her windows were covered in just married stuff. Now I have to try and get it defered without driving back to port angeles.

I don't believe that you can be ticketed for speeding if you maintained the actual speed limit. As Dondo stated, the yellow sign is a suggested speed. They're more for the large commercial vans, trucks, and semi-trucks to follow.

I used to drive a large box van for a vending company. The one time I didn't follow the suggested speed for a corner I had several cases of soda topple over in the back and make a mess.

They are on a big kick ro get everyone to follow those signs. They have been airing quite a few TV ads saying everyone should follow them.

^ But it's state mandated driving regulations that say those are advisory signs; not actual speed signs.

I would think that you wouldn't get a speeding ticket, but it might be possible for a wreckless driving ticket.
