Good dealerships?
Wow it's nice to see there are some rx-ophiles around Oregon I only saw two RX-8's during the last 6 months and both were driven by 50 year old women Need to see some younger blood! Anyway, I'm going to be buying my RX-8 probably within 6 months or so which means I have to start doing research now. Does anyone have any suggestions for good dealerships around the Portland area? :D

It's not in the Portland area so much, but I recomend Bernie Bishop Mazda. Rick, the owner is great. I bought my Mazdaspeed Protege there and I'm going back for my RX-8.

I live right near Ron Tonkin Mazda so I'll just try there first. As much as I want to buy an RX-8, I'm afraid Brookings is a little out of my range Anyone know of any in Vancouver, WA? Thanks for the suggestions!

Go out to mazdausa.com and enter zip code and you will get about 8 dealers within the Portland area listed. Then you can check their inventory as well

Vancouver Mazda Dodge is where I bought Mine. Let me say right now ***THEY SUCK***.
Take your care to Tonkin for service. We have 2 Mazdas and live only about 7 miles from Vancouver Mazda. We drive the 20+ miles to Tonkin becuase of our constant bad service from Vancouver. Done ranting

Tonkin Mazda will NEVER touch a car I own again. Their service side is horrible, they caused damage to my car 3 out of the 4 times it was there. They do very sloppy and poor work.
As for their salesmen. They seem to have zero knowledge on cars. The guy who I talked to about RX-8's was a complete moron to say the least.
Feel free to message me if you want specific information. I have nothing good to say about those guys at all. And by no means am I some overly picky customer who is unreasonable. I just wanted the warranty issues fixed with my car and it caused me nothing but a big headache EVERY time I had to deal with them.

I recomend Ron Tonkin Mazda, I've had very good service from them. They just changed my oil for under $23 and gave us free donouts, pizza, and zoom-zoom t-shirts, (Oh and I also got my M-flash, so much smoother now!!!!!).
I'd stay away from buying at Vacouver Mazda, I went there first when buying my car, they would not go below 30K for a used demo car with over 4000miles on it. But I would take my car there for service, they know all about MSP04 now .

Yeah I think it just depends on the salesman. The guy I talked to at Ron Tonkin didn't seem to know much about the RX-8 but at the same time he never pressured or pushed me. He just tried to answer my questions as well as he could and whatever ones he didn't know, he said he would research and email me (didn't even ask for a phone number). I didn't really mind about his general knowledge being less then mine (I've been doing a lot of research lately). I was actually rather suprised how non-aggressive and polite he was, which is rather refreshing. I think I might go visit Herzog-Meier or Vancouver next.

What sort of stuff happened to you on the service side? The salesperson said Tonkin has one of the better Mazda service centers in the area, but that could be a load of hoo-ha too.
