Question Dyno Day for REAL with MM in Portland

It's On!

Surgeline Tuning Dyno Day in Portland, Oregon. Saturday Dec. 4th, 2010 from 9AM to 5PM. If we go over 5PM, then we pay as we go. They have a four wheel Mustang dyno, and a state of the art facility. There is a viewing room with a large screen TV, so that you can see the results of tuning live while you view the dyno from the comfort of leather couches in the customer area. Also, their dyno uses a high quality Motec wideband AF meter for accurate data.

Confirmed Date:
December 4th, 2010
9AM - 5PM PST

Shop Location:
16580 SW 72nd Ave
Portland, Oregon 97224

I will add your name to the "On The Fence List" if interested. Everyone please check this post for accuracy for exactly what you want to get out of the dyno day. Whether that is:

1) Current MMCCS Customer Tune + Dyno
2) Current AP Owner & MMCCS New Enrollment Customer Tune + Dyno
3) New AP Purchase & MMCCS Tune + Dyno
4) Dyno only

The Participant List:

We have (6) Confirmed Time Slots Filled (12) Time Slots Max and Are Listed in The Order They will get Tuned:

EDIT: RWHP / RWTQ POSTED FOR EACH (note: these are the last runs for each, but smoothed out for the print. This lowered everyone's numbers. I will get the raw ones sent as well. Look later for the plots.

1) Deminic / '09 RX-8 MT / NA / Dyno Only / 164 / 127
2) Dondo / '07 MS3 MT / New AP Purchase & MMCCS Tune + Dyno 1 Slot / 224 / 264
3) Dondo / '04 RX8 MT / FI Pettit SC / Current MMCCS Customer Tune + Dyno 2 Slots / 256 / 173
4) Nemesis8 / '04 RX8 MT / NA Street Port / Current MMCCS Customer Tune + Dyno 1 Slot / 190 / 136
5) Pdxhak / '04 RX8 MT / FI BNR/Greddy TC / New AP Purchase & MMCCS Tune + Dyno 2 Slots / 270 / 223

NOTE: If we get more people, the price will drop per person for the dyno time and tune portion. If we go over the 8 hours allotted by Surgeline, I will pay the next three hours myself at $100/hour for up to three hours more. Somebody else needs to provide food if this happens - don't want hungry organizers lounging around...

You can pre-purchase the AccessPORT for $494 which includes the MMCCS (Which is $100 off the regular price) till 11-19-10 or, if you already have an AccessPORT, it is $150 to enroll in the MMCCS (which is $49 off). NO AP's FOR SALE AT THE DYNO You need to buy them by the 19th! After that, they are sold at normal price from MM. He will bring an extra one to use to tune a car, but will have to uninstall it when he leaves. You would then need to buy a new AP, and load the tune back in.

I will let this thread run it's course for awhile. If it does not generate the traffic or interest, I will fly him up here myself if I have to. I need this beast tuned!

Just so you know, the earliest weekend I have available is in November.
The weekends of the 13th and 20th are available.

MM, Is there a minimum number of people you need before committing?

No minimum attendance, just a minimum dollar amount, which can be divided up appropriately based on the number and type of calibrations required.
There is also a "surcharge" for people that are not current Calibration Service customers.
I have a somewhat standard form that explains the cost breakdown that I can send to whoever takes up the gauntlet on organizing the event (presumably Nemesis).

If a date is decided I might be able to show. I need to run a dyno before I start messing with things (even though I don't plan on doing much). A nice baseline would be handy.

An approximate cost would be handy too.

Hey Jeff - dates in November are fine with me, or even later. But I'm still not sure if I will get enough interest to make this happen. Send me the cost breakdown form when you can.

kevin @ nemesis8 . com

I know dondo would like to get his pettit sc dyno tuned. I still need my first calibration loaded up so I can get a second calibration. It may be that the e-tune will suffice for me, but I have enough United Airlines mileage that I could fly you up on my nickel, and enough dead green presidents to pay you to dyno tune just my street port and his supercharger alone.

As a side note: Remember to delete the current 4.0.1 calibration in my completed folder. It was with the AEM intake, which I sold. I started over with the REVi.

LOL - I got you on the list, but I think this is all the interest so far. Let's see what the weekend brings. Not sure if there are many FI's around Portland. Those are the cars that benefit the most from this.

True. I only know of one FI RX8 in the area but do not think he is using Cobb AP. Hopefully we get enough people to commit. There has to be a few more from WA that are interested?!

I will be offering APs at a special price (including the MMCCS) to people that sign up for the Portland Dyno Day and take delivery of their unit at the event.

The details will be included in the info that I send to Nemesis this afternoon.

I'm also very interested... but with school I'm not sure if I can afford that right now. Got any idea of how much it would cost?
