On a different note

You know, the one good thing about living in a town like Bellingham is that you can still stand out. I'm pretty sure there are only 4 other 8's in town, and it's always a suprize to see another one. My buddy visited Orlando a few weeks back and reported that we are thick as flies down there. So few benefits to a small town.

Maybe if we had nicer weather too we might start seeing more around. I think more people buy sports cars when they know its goin to be all good weather 75% of the time. But then again I see Miatas a dime a dozen round here at the capital or any where I go. So I could be wrong just my 2 cents....but I agree with ya it's good to live here in Washington cause your right I don't see to many around which is totally nice!!!! =)

We seem to be pretty thick here in Puyallup...at least half a dozen I'd say .

I went to school at Sehome, and Ferndale...I know that area up there pretty well. Actually was just up there in my 8 a couple weekends ago.

On a side note...Batmobile1...I saw your post the other day about cruising around at 130 up there, as a personal favor, do you mind slowing it down some please? I've got three sisters and my mom living up there (I already lost one sister this year)....who knows who's going to get in your way at that speed.

I saw a sixty minutes deal a little while ago about a kid who was speeding...wound up rear ending another car going 100mph, killed both people in the car he hit. The two people in the car? His mom and life long family friend. Can you imagine!

I'm not trying to start a flame thread or anything, just please slow it down some?

There is a time and place for building some speed, god knows I like to... just ask some of the guys that went on the Mt. St. Helens drive with me!

Anyways...it is nice to still get some heads turning over a year after release!

You must be at least a little paranoid about speeders 'cause I saw nothing in this thread related to speeding... head turning, yes but speeding, no. It's a sad story for sure but a little outta place if you ask me. I got my flamer gassed up and ready to go... :D

Emsdad's reference was to posts on another thread. Suffice to say that the discussion included references to very high-speed driving on a well-known twisty road over here on the wet side of the state. Given the tone of the posts on the other thread, I suspect his request won't be heeded, but it certainly was understandable, imo.

I was one of the folks with a 'tone'...

yes please drive slowly! if u wanna go 130, take it to the track!
if someone killed my wife in a careless wreck, that person would end up missing in a body bag at the bottom of the puget sound!

sigh....i just typed a novel and lost it...damn, oh well the short and sweet version is this. It may have gotten out of hand but the thread to which you refer was directed at the road drones who were lumping their over emphasized opinions toward another member on a different thread. Chuckanut although known for its twisties contains one of the longest if not the longest, flattest, highest visibility straightaways in the state. Id honestly say that I feel safer at higher speeds on that particular stretch than on the 5. No stop lights, low traffic, there was not a car within a mile (and yes, on this strech you can see even farther) and the few dwellings that exist are far from the road. Thank you for the concern and the good intentions however "slowly" is not even in the vocabulary.

Thanks for the response. Actually, much more civil than I expected! LOL

I've done it too, long empty road up to 150...but I wasn't comfortable and I came to the conclusion that yes it was exhilerating (I can't spell) I'll never do it again on public roads...just too much at risk at that speed...dear, pedestrians (you never know where some dumb *** is gonna jump out from).

I want to go that fast again, (badly!), but I'll only do it on the track now.

yeah, I don't usually do civil very well. Only so many places where that could be considered comfortable (even on a track) and I don't think there are any where it would be considered wise. NO TRACK AROUND HERE! its driving me up a wall....gonna have to go up to canada or somethin....I raced carts for a long time and have attended some driving schools and driven a winston cup car at California Speedway (oh boy I know). Nothing like having the right toy in the right playground. I hear there is a roadcourse at SIR...only drag raced there...anyone know if its worth checkin out?

It's now called Pacific Raceway and it's a good track. I've done it a number of times on a bike and it has enough challenges to keep things interesting.

ok, heres the skinny. Unless you want to run during the weekdays, the weekends are reserved for comp and racing school. normal lapping days are available with reservations for $175. However, you must first attend the one day school for $445 (using your own car). Hey, sounds like a deal to me...only bout 2.5/ 3 hours south of here i guess....what do you guys think? Have any of you already attended the Proformance school?
