Angry Break in!

Hey everybody its been a while, but wanted to report that my car was broken into last night, no glass broken or lock breakage. Not sure how they got in, looks like they broke my starter in my steering column, not sure of the extent of the damage. But my deductible is 1k so ill be paying for it!

MAKE SURE YOUR CAR IS SECURE!! With the RX8 auto lock function not more we can do even if we accidentally leave our cars unlocked.

Any Idea of what parts are in the column they may be after?

It may be easier to replace the complete steering column than to just replace the parts. Call Mazmart for a used one.

I will have to find out what is missing when i get home. they left everything intact so they were trying to take it but did not think about RFID keys or engine immobilizer.

Dude, I know ur joking, but for ppl who may take this seriously; do not do anything like this... With a pick like this or one of those bumper stickers that says "keep honking I'm reloading", if you end up having to use that shotgun to defend yourself or your family it will take nothing for a prosecutor to convince a jury that you were looking for a reason to kill someone (sorry to say, but this is the northwest where the political leaning is more anti-gun than pro-defense)

Amazing how far you can open the door with a plastic wedge and other wedging tools. Watch a tow truck driver sometimes. Like everyone said they went to the steering collum to slide hammer the lock and break the pin that keeps your steering wheel locked.

OK so upon digging into my car the only thing that looked broken was the Ignition Switch, but the car still wont get any power to the CPU. Going to have to get it towed to dealer to find out whats wrong.

If you still have the car, check the fuse in the drivers footwell, marked 'Room', also the two fuses underhood, marked 'Engine'....they all need to be good to get ECU power....
