Am I crazy???
Ok before you all kill me, don't... I made a mistake, I used Arco Gas....
Anyways, So Prices in the Marysville area are like everywhere else, crazy...
So I decided a few tanks of arco could be tried, as long as I use some chevron every once in a few tanks...
I got about 220miles per tank of gas, thats full to light.
I decided to try Costco gas, because I hear (and I could be wrong) but costco doesnt use ethanol unlike arco? whatever it is, but Im noticing with Costco, Im getting an average of 20more miles a tank, up to 30 if im not "on it"
Am I crazy? (Opinions are like A$$holes, everyones got one, whats yours?)

good question bro...ive heard that to on costco... im alwayz chevron. but have been wanting to try costco..its just about 60 miles away so when ever my ladi needs to go ill try it and tell you what im getting...
ARCO gas sucks, Costco is close to sucking as bad.
You were having to be light on the gas pedal so as not to hear the PING that was going on if you pushed the pedal a little to far. Hence the better mileage.

The Costco with a gas station is quite a long way out of my way, so I don't go there. However, a heads up. ALL gas sold in Oregon contains 10% ethanol. It is required by law, starting January 2008. That means Costco gas also contains it, as it has to. I know nothing about gas in Washington, but in general, Arco sucks! LOL

This subject has been addressed. Everybody gets their gas from either the Arco refinery in Tacoma or Tesoro refinery in Anacortes (used to be an Arco facility but was sold several years ago). They then add their additives, if any. Arco adds ethanol to the crap they sell to consumers, but raw gas to the other gas companies.
The ethanol is the culprit. As I demonstrate in the linked thread, ethanol reduces the energy yield of the fuel. When gas went over $4/gal, it became less economical to run Arco (or any other E10 provider) than the others. Costco is generally one of the better places to get gas 'cause the sell so much, it doesn't suffer water infiltration or tank decomp.
If you're really unhappy with gas prices, blame congress.

But there is hope on the horizon, if the institutional investment in commodities futures problem gets fixed. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...d=ayj1uo_gdNI4 We have our own oil field with more capacity than Saudi Arabia, and I'm not talking off-shore or ANWR.
