2010 NW Toy Run! (Saturday Dec 4th Noon-4PM)
Hey guys, it's that time of year again. Posting super early so you have NO EXCUSES! This is always a great time and it's for a great cause, Toys for Tots. Full info is here: http://www.nwtoyrun.com/
So what is it? In a word, it's a giant car meet to donate toys for underprivileged kids. If it's a nice day, you'll see everything from a S13 swapped Mazda MPV to Ferraris (if the weather sucks, the Italians tend to stay at home). I have a lot of pictures from the last 2 years of this event but I'm realizing I don't have a camera right now... so someone else is going to have to take pictures
Meet up at the Tukwila/Southcenter Barnes and Noble and convoy to PR. Gather at 11 or so, get breakfast, then head out at 11:30
Some pics from previous years:

2009 thread has a lot more pictures as well: https://www.rx8club.com/nw-rx-8-forum-33/north-west-toy-run-184793/page3/

What does 7club have to do with anything? Getting MM to come to the PNW is not an easy task. It is not like anyone asked us when is good time for the toy run. I'm not trying to be rude here so please do not take it that way. IMO you need a better understanding of what it takes to get our cars tuned. And having a chance to get it tuned in person is even more challenging.
I tell you what. You or anyone from the Portland area that is making the toy run stop by my house and I will give them toys.

The fact that our rotary brethren have organized and carry out the largest automotive Christmas charity event in the NW. Every car club in the NW shows up. It makes the local news every year. You guys should be riding right with the 7's. Your dyno day can wait for another weekend.
I perfectly understand what a challenge it is to get a rotary tuned well. There have been few tuning outfits in the NW that were good for tuning a rotary, and now most of them are gone. (Groundzero comes to mind) It is also insane that Jeff (mazdamaniac) is the only realistic tuning service for our cars. I am sure this is not the only weekend on earth you guys can get him up here.
Sounds like you'll be busy at the dyno.

Everyone has their own priorities. If people want to do something else, then they should be able to do so without being chastised for their decisions. I'm sure PDX would love to make it, unfortunately, he has other arrangements.

hornbm, you are being ridiculous. The simple fact is we have tentative plans. It is unfortunate they conflict with each other. If it does not work out then as previously mentioned I will try to make it as well as others. Just to be frank, my personal time is more important than this event. My weekends are usually very full and I have moved a few things around to ensure I can be available. If that does not sit well with you then it is your problem.

Some RX-8's will always show up, it's just a question of how many.
Hornbrn, keep in mind, there are currently 3 people signed up for the Dyno day and 2 of them live in Portland, so the Toy Run would mean 6hrs of driving for a 2-3hr event. Good cause or no, that's a long day, and if the event were in Portland could you honestly say you'd make it?
