I have that no start issue also. I even use a battery disconnect, so it's not a drain issue, its just this ecu is picky about voltage for m the research i did. I only track mine so its no biggie, goes on a battery tender a week before an event. when i first got it just driving it once weekly was enough to keep everything happy.

In my case the battery was a contributing factor. The battery was a red-top Optima that was already in the car before the swap (I initially though Andrew had put a new battery in but that wasn't the case). When the car was shipped to me I think they left a light on because the battery only had about 3 volts when it arrived, and the drain I've seen wouldn't account for that. So I think this battery was pretty damaged already, and this made a slow drain combined with the voltage these injectors require a much bigger problem. Before swapping the battery out I could often only leave it for two or three days. After the battery swap it seems fine if I drive it about once a week, but much more than that and I need to use a lithium jump box to boost it. This one has worked incredibly well: https://www.audew.com/Audew-2000A-Pe...-p-100058.html

Skinless, great car! Yours was the first one I saw when I was debating on an LFX Miata or RX-8 project. Seeing as I just pulled an 06 with no engine home yesterday, you can guess which won. Lol.

What exhaust setup do you have? I'm on the fence since I haven't even sourced an engine yet. I want something with a little bark but not annoying. Yours has a pretty good sound to it.

Thanks! I actually ended up keeping the stock RX8 muffler after some other people who had done the swap were talking about how loud the car was in the cabin with other exhausts. The RX8 muffler has a lot of baffling so mine is really quiet. I really like it for daily driving, but I would like the option to open it up when I want to. I’d like to find a muffler with a baffle that adjusts remotely but I haven’t done any real looking yet to see what might work best.

Not sure if this will neuter the link or not so I'll space it out but check out Varex mufflers. I have one on my Elantra GT daily and it works pretty well. You can control it with a key fob or cut the wires on the solenoid and run it to a momentary switch like I did.

Hi guys,
I am back....after the COVID mess, irs mess and after trying to deal with Porsche. NEVER buy a Porsche Macan without a warrenty! Let's just say I had to learn to repair the dl501 dual clutch transmission myself, had to source parts from a junkyard ( Porsche will not sell you any) etc etc etc...don't want to bore y'all) to get my Macan Turbo fixed. I then sold it. I actually went without a car of my own for about one year. Had to build up funds. Well I did and now I am back and one again looking at Keisler's kit and doing the swap. Andrew closed his shop in Colorado and is back in Tn full time. He is booked for the rest of the year as far as turn key cars, but he can provide the total kit to whomever.. I hope I can work this out this time! Skinless how is yours doing!!

here you go; adjustable-sound muffler body with single 3” inlet with dual 2.5” outlets similar to the RX8 muffler but with larger pipes and has an internal electronic valve on the inlet side that forces it through the muffler or lets it go straight thru, an optional controller kit lets you set the valve anywhere in between for the whatever the sound level can be between those two extremes. The only think is it’s just the main muffler body assembly. You have to fabricate the inlet piping, hangers, and outlet piping with tips. Let’s you build it out however you want though and shouldn’t be too difficult:

.
edit: see someone suggested the brand, but not this specific muffler they offer.

I recently completed my LFX swap into the RX8. I will set up a thread shortly to show my journey and talk about my experiences completing this process. I was intrigued by Andrew's LFX swap page and was familiar with the RX8 (having purchased one new in Dec 2003 and using it as a daily driver through July 2018). From 2003-2007, I drove regularly with the Arizona rotary car club, had a great time with the car, and participated in a number of the Seven-Stock events. However, RX8 was always a bit under-powered and the engine became known for it's poor longevity. I sold my 2004 RX8 6 Spd in Indiana during July of 2018 and moved back to Arizona. In 2020 I bought a fairly decent 2006 RX8 6spd automatic with every intention to complete this engine swap. Note: I hadn't done this type of comprehensive automotive work before, so this was a new experience for me. Andrew's design work, the parts he provides with his kit, and his detailed videos and consistent support were a huge reason for my success getting this swap completed. I can't say that there were no hurdles, however, Andrew was there when I needed the help and in my opinion, he went above and beyond what I have come to expect from many in the automotive community. So, if you are interested, come by, read and comment on my LFX swap journey. As of today, I have the majority of the swap completed, the car is running, it's licensed and registered in Phoenix Az, and I have been driving it for the last four months in the AZsolo autocross events. While I'm nowhere near the fastest times people are putting down, I'm having a great time with the car and it is a really fun car to drive now. Previously, lurked on this site as Turbine_Pwr with a few comments/replies... but couldn't remember my login and password from back in the day. So, created this new handle. Stay-tuned for my LFX swap story with associated pictures.

make another post or two and we can likely get your thread moved to this forum area.

it can’t be said enough that Andrew Kiesler is a an awesome vendor and great resource to the RX8 community.

That is my plan... tomorrow morning I'll pick up where I left off with my LFX swap adventure. I hope, once I've demonstrated a positive and productive contribution to this LFX swap history, my thread will be moved to this section and join up with all the previous good work already here. Like I said previously, I will try to include some of the mistakes I made to hopefully prevent other people from falling into the same traps.

I couldn't agree more about Andrew's contributions to this build. He has been a fabulous resource and, while busy, he has always gotten back to me with supportive/positive feedback and suggestions/recommendations to solve my perceived problems.
