Thought I'd share my project I'm trying to tackle right now

Love the rb. Are you using the rb25 trans or the z32 trans?

 

I'm using the rb trans, basically everything is stock rb25parts except for the clutch and side IM.

 

How far back does it sit?

The engine sits against the firewall and in order for the shifter to reach in nicely like stock and the oil pan clearing the rack I had to bang the firewall in a little. The aluminum rear sump oil pan sits almost right on the rack just had to be modded to clear the connector since the engine sits angled.

The swap has it's own mounts and it's sitting on its own now, I'll get the rad support done soon, figure out a mount for the trans and rear end beam(easy), put intake manifold on, mocha up intercooler then do wiring.
Def not backing out like most.

 

Can I see some pix of the mounts and pix of the mods you did to the rack/subframe if you dont mind 😊

i got a question for everyone that has done a swap retaining the renesis ecu to control the cluster.
what did you guys use to make the ecu think it has injectors, solenoids and coil packs?
i was thinking of putting resistors to mimic all that uneeded stuff in everyplug but i wonder if it will work.

 

You need the Eccentric shaft trigger signal.....and the coolant temp sensor and oil pressure sender. ..doesnt need any of the other stuff

 

I have them hooked up already, I'm just trying to keep the cel light off.

 

 

Just get a used Cobb or other tuner and shut them off. Trying to emulate everything would be a huge PITA if even doable without OEM engineering support

 

I measured resistance on injectors, solenoids and coils then picked up a few resistors. I'm going to try them and see if they will make the ecu think that there are sensors hooked up.

Good luck with everything. Def go with a cobb AP to clear the Cel's.

 

You wont get any codes from ignition or injectors...and you cant fool the solenoids with resistors. They are expecting signals with certain responses not just resistances.
Have a go at it I always found I didnt believe until I wasted a lot of time too

 

Hey bro I seen this car on ig and I was woundering what did you do for mounts? Did u buy some and customize them or build some from scratch?

 

I used the stock rb engine and trans mounts that came with the swap and iat made my own brackets for the subframe.
