OD, I hope you are doing good! I am sure it will happen one day. I have been out of work too since I bought my R3 in March. Good luck to both of us!

Just letting everyone know , I have not gone away. Things are just a litter better. Back doing Muay Thai ( at age 71!) ..heck been into martial arts for 50 years now....anyway, my back is fine, finances slowly recovering, and this remains on top of my bucket list. 2020 has NOT been a good year for us. The Lord has given me a lesson in patience ! Dang it!

It will be my last one so it will have to be right. Anyone know if a twin screw system for the lfx will fit under the hood? I dont ready want to use a centrifugal system. Will shoot for 350-375 rwhp and close to 300 torque.

Lol ...so true! Still there is something about launching a Porsche 4 wheel drive with that beautiful pdk trans and 560 of torque! But in comparison I can’t take turn 1 at road Atlanta at anything over 80 mph.

Guess what! The edelbrock twin screw system will for under the hood with the old madzaspeed type hood scoop. I have always liked that scoop! It also gives a very reliable 400 rwhp and the lfx internals can take up to 450-475 without a problem. Thankfully in ga gas is 93 oct.but these DI engines do allow more compression. Ok that box is checked. Next move will not be until after the election.

@olddragger Which Edelbrock supercharger have you been looking at? I’ve been searching, but I’m only coming up with the model for the LGX (2016+ Camaro) and not for the LFX. This definitely has me intrigued. I’ll have to search around for pics of that hood scoop. I hope everything is going well. I’m rooting for you to make this dream a reality.

Id be curious to know which supercharger your looking at. Future mods =). 300whp is pretty fast on track in this car. Its right at the nasa tt3 power/weight ratio.

Im thinking about caging the car. Its phenomenally fast. Unlike my last ride, this one is fast enough that the oem safety isnt going to be enough to protect me if something goes wrong.

If your going down the keisler path, get a limited slip upgrade while your putting it together. The gm diff is starting to be a problem for me on corner exits. It just doesn't lock enough to give thr bite youll want.

Eldenbrock ( sic) twin screw kit is available for the lfx. It is not a high end kit but for the boost level I am shooting for ( 8-9 lbs) it will do for now.
it is difficult to find more data ie what grams per second of air flow etc, but still this should do. The centrifugal set ups ...overkill etc don’t look bad, especially for road racing, I keep forgetting that low end torque is already there lol. Still I like the twin screw set up. Looking for just shy of 400 rwhp.
My plans are , to start in 2021. In the past when God knew I had a plan.....he laughed! Maybe this time it will work out.
Mike D ...good info and no doubt I will need that and the thing you said about safety is the reason I didn’t actually compete. I too was seeing the absolute need for more safety features on track. It was hard but I just started lifting my right foot some remembering I was there to just have fun. No more going through turn 12 at road Atlanta at 115 mph etc.
Motivational thought....” if you can’t stop thinking about it then never stop working toward it”

Dang that made me laugh!

Been in touch with Keisler ( sic) and no plans for a heavier front bar and the strut bar of course is not workable. Don’t think this will be a big deal on track..just have to adjust the rest of the suspension. I really liked my previous set up of racing beats bars and end links plus the kw variet 3 coilovers. it worked very well for street and track. Even using Hoosiers.

Id like to say the front bar is from a 240sx so something heavier could be used. Also i think a speedway style bar would work. Its probably not needed unless you run softer spring rates. I have very little body roll and a very neutral balance. Between a proper alignment and having an adjustable rear bar you should be able to balance to your liking.

If you do the penskes do yourself a favor and get the remote res, otherwise adjusting rebound sucks. I 100% regret that i allowed myself to be talked out of the remote res option.

If i didn't say this already, also make sure you get a true trak or some other limited slip. The stock diff does not lock up enough for track use.

A single stock oil cooler isnt up to the task on track. I would have him run both coolers or get a better oone
I could probably arrange to have my car out that way if you want to try before you buy, though I cant imagine anyone would be unhappy with the end result.

Mike ..invaluable feedback. I appreciate it. If you are close by, being able to see your car and have ride along would be awesome. Just say when and where and I will be there! P.M. sent.
