How are you finding the modified steering geometry on the track? I'm planning on buying the ls1rx8 kit for a track only car and don't want to find out that the steering has been severely compromised or anything! It seems like it should be okay though.

I will be converting to hydraulic rack once I find the time, the EPS works, and comes with the car, but it does not shine on the track (even in a stock car it feels numb and dated compared to new EPS systems).

Release the twins.
It is fine for what it is, as long as you account for some of the changes in other places. I think I touched on this in my write up.

I've had my EPS go out on a fluke (turned the car off and back on and it came right back), but for that few minutes, it was awful. It wasn't "manly" steering effort, I've had manual rack cars before, it took a shitload of effort and didn't have any more "feel" than before. Would not recommend.

I ran a track session without the EPS, and it was not bad at speed. It is abyssmal on the street or at low speeds. And as above noted, does not provide you with any more feedback.
Everything is a tradeoff however, and switching to a hydraulic rack comes at the price of a longer belt, pump, and fluid reservoir, as well as potential for leaks.

This is what happens when it snows on Easter, and you have already put away your snowblower.
Anyway... more progress coming this spring (whenever it may start).

I did a little bit of editing/formatting the content of this thread and threw it into a PDF in case anybody wants an easier to read guide.
