LS1 engine mounts...
I'm planning on doing an LS1 or LS2 swap once my warranty is up.
anyone know of a company that makes engine mounts for this swap? and how much they usually run for?
Or do the engine mounts for an LS1 or LS2 engine for our cars usually have to be custom made?
Thanks

First, search. There are several threads on this topic on RX8club (even in this sub section), and there have been several builds. All of them have been custom to date, so you're not going to find that there's much pricing available. One company has been promising a kit for a couple of years, and might be getting close, but there's still no pricing, no finished product, and no way to order it.
There's also a lot more involved than just the engine swap. If you're remotely serious, you better start researching. The knowledge you need to make an informed decision on whether or not you want to do this project isn't going to come to you by passively starting a thread.

Oh dont worry I'm completely serious about doing this swap once my warranty is up in a year. I'm aware that it's not just a simple swap. It will be with a new trans and everything. A local shop that's famous for some of it's builds will be doing it because I'm friends with the owner. The shop is RCautoworks, they built the 700hp prelude that has been featured in many magazines and websites. I am curious though, what were the problem parts that people have come across?

In all seriousness, you are asking noob questions about something that will cost you thousands upon thousands of dollars to do. You are not prepared. The people who built up a Honda do not have experience with this. I know a guy that works for NASA, he said he's gonna build me a rocket ship. Where should I source the flux capacitor from?

I just remember reading a little while back the a company was planning to release motor mounts for this swap. But apparently they havent yet?

Fabricate them yourself. I've done an LT1-240z swap, it is one of the easiest swaps, and there are lots of parts available for it. There was still tons of fabrication. Engine swaps always require many more one-off parts than you expect. Get handy with a welder.

They are not trolling, this topic has just been discussed a million times. It's a good conversation though. There are a few people that have done the swap in an 8 but there are a lot more on 7's and every other car on earth. I personally plan on trying the swap after I get a new place and finish school. I'll keep you posted.
