V8 Roadsters is currently developing a kit but it won't be ready for at least a few months. I would wait for the rather than use Hinson.
If the quality is anything like V8R's MX5 kit then the RX8 kit should be excellent.

There website is currently under construction but there is now an RX8 link.
Last I heard they were planning for the kit to be ready by end of the year.

I'm local to Hinson. They are a great company and I will be purchasing a few items from them once Oct. rolls around. The service manager is a good guy. They also have a decent name in the 7 community...

I by no means dislike Hinson super cars. I have purchased had to get the bumpsteer kit from them.
And their prices are pretty high

Cause the site ls1rx8.com doesn't offer

when you can get a kit from ls1rx8.com to bolt a few brackets to the original subframe
for the engine mounting. trans, rack and pinion, swaybar spacer torque arm
For $1,300

They haven't completed their site yet though.

I checked that site immediately after reading your first post earlier today. I have to say those guys(by those guys I am assuming YOU...hehe) offer a great price. It actually had me thinking of buying this 5.3 my buddy is getting rid of. it would be nice to throw a 200shot at it and break 11's...

I had previously worked with granny's speed shop to build my first car witch was a second gen rx7 ls1/t56 and there kit made it very easy to do the swap and not that bad with prices.

Well about 4 months ago I found a 04 rx8 blown engine $2500 so I was on it and got the car. After ripping the engine out and looking at what I had to work with it seemed impossible to make I bracket that bolted to the subframe for mounting the engine without having exhaust or starter issues. I have to say I put it on my rack every night for about a week jus staring at it. Tried many different ways and I found the best way it could be done in my oppenoin.

Cause I work on cars for a living and have been so sick of seeing engineers design cars to where you gotta rip everything off to get to the most simple things that could have easily been changed. So that what I was after. Not dreading the moment of having to work on the car because something that is broken. Because cars brake.

Yes this is the only rx8 with this kit installed as of now. I actually do have a alignment machine with a scissor Rack, 4 post rack, and a 2 post rack. i used the 4 post to install the engine and transmission at one time.

And about Hinson's Kit i talked to Brian on several occasions i like the guy i think he has a great thing going there at his shop and have nothing against him at all.

But there engine mounting wasn't for me cause i don't want to have to rely on a fabricator to come and instal the engine stands for me. So i Looked for a long time to see how it could be done another way, I did and the engine moves little to nothing when revved.

i Believe Hinson now has a custom subframe witch I'm still not much for swapping subframes when its not necessary.

For the tiger wheel for the Tachometer to work as of right now will be purchased through Hinson super cars. They Are wanting something like $500 for it because its a custom harmonic balancer however; in the next few weeks i will be introducing the design in witch God gave me last night to make it work without the need of a new harmonic balancer.

I am using a L98/77 6.0lt with t56. I have bought a whole heap of parts thanks to other people who have done the conversion. Also thanks to ls1rx8.com as i purchased the conversion kit through him.
Will post pics once i receive all the parts and engine goes in.

Any word on the quality and ease of the kit? The price and look of the kit makes it very appealing.

Looking forward to seeing you start your project.

I am welding my pedestals to the subframe. The LS RX8 swap is tricky in some senses. I have alot of my kit in development, currently working with a good friend who owns a water jet to cut out all of the parts ive designed in CAD.

I am nearly done the programming for my gateway, however I have significant fabricating experience so fabricating the parts is easy.

At this point, I am thinking I will only offer my kit in a installed situation, where I will install for customers due to the amount of fabrication & electronics work involved.
