Zaxash Introduction

Hi RX-8 Club!

Just thought I'd make my first post an introduction since it seems like the polite thing to do, and I can familiarize myself with the forum format.

I'm Alec, I'm an engineering student and a proud owner of an RX-8 of 3 years. It's an '05 GT in Brilliant Black.

Here she is on the day I picked her up. The previous owner had great taste in tires, but I can't say the same about his taste in mirror caps.

With only 41000 km on the clock, there wasn't much fixing up to do. A little while after I bought it, I got a CEL for a faulty gas cap, and the headlights were a little cloudy so I polished em up a little.

Despite the very adequate tire setup, I decided to put the wheels from my previous car onto the RX-8. How lucky am I that SC400 and RX-8 fitments are so compatible?

From my research, they're Work Sporbo Fervore wheels, which seem to be a discontinued offering from a line of more affordable, cast wheels from Work, but I've never seen any before in Canada. They're wrapped in Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec tires. Here's the view from the back, along with my girlfriend's Celica:

I've been lurking for a long time, but hopefully I'll participate in the forum now that I've finally made my account!

Welcome to the forum! You have a beautiful 8 and it appears to have been very well kept! I didn't care for the mirror caps either. Did you paint them or replace them?

The previous owner was kind enough to leave me a care package with stock black mirror caps and a well worn stock shift ****, since he replaced it with a really nice brushed aluminum shift ****.

Thanks Jedi and Minc.

Maybe that explains why I beat my buddy's red RX-8, hehe

Hey!

Looks good man! Lucky you got a nice low mileage and hopefully it's still pretty clean on the undercarriage.

Imo, spacers and suspension would really improved the look and handling of this car! I'm planning on coming back to Ontario this summer so lmk if you want to meet up and ogle each others 8s lol 🤣

Luckily there's no rust underneath apart from the stock exhaust pipe!

And spacers?? My wheels would be outside the car 🤣 But I'll happily take a fitment that comfortably clears the fender rather than chasing perfect flushness. I'm in Quebec but maybe I'll let you know if I visit Ontario

Careful, sometimes I think 200 is looking for a wife - anybody’s wife.

Nice 8.
